What a fun Aussie Week full of music, laughs and plenty of Rock Chix craziness!

Today was also a little bittersweet as Miss Stone gets ready to move away and start a new chapter. We want to wish her a huge congratulations and all the very best for the move and everything ahead. Thank you for all the laughs, memories and for being such a big part of Rock Chix. 💕

It was also such a proud day for Michelle and Empower Independence. Michelle, you absolutely stepped up today! From helping with merchandise, chatting with everyone and keeping things moving, your confidence really shone through. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see you continue taking the lead and making Rock Chix your own. 💙

NDIS Rock Chix will continue every Tuesday with Michelle and Empower Independence, bringing all the music, friendship, themes and fun everyone knows and loves.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Rock Chix each week. 💙

🌟WELCOME TO THE TEAM - JODIE CLIFFORD 🌟

We’re so excited to officially welcome Jodie to the Empower Independence team!

Jodie is honestly one of those incredible human beings with the kindest soul. She is caring, compassionate, genuine and has a heart of gold when it comes to supporting others.

Her passion for people with disabilities started long before becoming a support worker. Growing up surrounded by family and loved ones with disabilities gave Jodie a natural connection to the industry, and she has now had an incredible 27 years of experience.

Over those years, Jodie has gained experience across so many different areas of disability support and has worked with people with a wide range of needs, abilities and goals. That experience, combined with her calm nature, compassion and willingness to always go the extra mile, makes her such an amazing person to have on our team.

What Jodie loves most is watching people grow, gain confidence, try new things, learn new skills and truly live their best lives. She has a huge passion for community inclusion and loves creating opportunities for people to get involved, meet others and experience things they may not have tried before.

Whether it’s getting out in the community, arts and crafts, cooking, fitness, helping someone achieve a personal goal or simply being there to support and encourage them, Jodie genuinely loves every part of what she does.

Outside of work, Jodie loves fishing, camping, spending time with her family and her dog.

And a couple of fun facts… Jodie has jumped out of a plane 13 times, including tandem skydives, and has also completed a 100km Oxfam walk, raising money to help educate and support young women overseas. That probably tells you everything you need to know about her determination and willingness to give back! 🙌

Jodie says being part of Empower Independence has helped give her back her spark and passion for supporting people with disabilities. She loves being part of a proactive, passionate team who genuinely care about making a difference.

We feel incredibly lucky to have Jodie with us. Her knowledge, life experience, beautiful nature and genuine love for people are something very special, and we know she is going to make such a positive impact on the lives of the people we support.

Welcome to the Empower family, Jodie. We are so glad you’re here. 💙

A huge happy 7th birthday to Huxley! We hope you have the best day filled with fun, laughter and plenty of birthday treats.

And a very happy birthday to Ronan, one of our awesome support workers! Although after seeing that red dress, we’re not sure whether we should be wishing Ronan or Rhonda a happy birthday 😂💃

Everyone is welcome! Participants, support workers, families, friends and members of our community. Come along, have some fun, meet new people and enjoy a few games of Bingo! 🥰

Something exciting is in the works…

I’ve been working behind the scenes on something I’m incredibly passionate about for our younger participants.

Empower Explorers is all about creating opportunities for children to explore, grow, build confidence, make new friends and enjoy unforgettable after-school adventures in a safe, supportive environment.

While we’re keeping the full details under wraps for now 🤫, I can promise it’s going to be something special.

If you have, or know, a young person who would love to be part of the adventure, now’s the perfect time to register your interest.
