Ever wondered why some horses yawn repeatedly after treatment? 👀🐴

Those big, deep, consecutive yawns can be a really interesting response to bodywork and relaxation.

Yawning is commonly seen when a horse transitions into a more relaxed state, and you’ll often see other signs alongside it, a softer expression, lowered head and neck, licking and chewing, deeper breathing or simply standing quietly and switching off.

This lovely girl had a treatment simply to help her feel good and stay comfortable, and the response afterwards was pretty hard to miss. 🤍

One yawn… then another… and another.

You can’t always see what a horse is feeling internally, but their behaviour can give us some pretty useful clues.

Sometimes the best feedback comes after the treatment is finished. 🐴✨

What a few months it’s been! 🤍🐴

From treating horses at the NCHA Futurity in Tamworth, to another 10 amazing days at the Darling Downs Futurity in Dalby, plus a few smaller shows in between, it’s certainly been a busy season!

In between showing my own horse, fitting in my regular weekly clients, and helping prepare horses for endurance rides, campdrafting, eventing, and cutting, it’s been non-stop—but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I honestly can’t thank every single owner enough for trusting me with your horses. Your support means more than you’ll ever know, and I’m so grateful to play a small part in each horse’s journey. Seeing the results, watching horses feel and perform at their best, and celebrating your achievements alongside you is exactly why I love what I do.

A huge thank you also goes to my mum for everything she’s done to help with Kobe while I’ve been away. I couldn’t do what I do without her support, and I’m so incredibly grateful.

If someone had told me a few years ago that this would be my life, I never would have believed them. Building Revital Equine, travelling to major events, meeting so many amazing people and horses, and being trusted with their care has been more than I ever imagined. I truly wouldn’t change it for the world. 💙

I treat this little cutting mare occasionally. She usually presents well, with no obvious issues, soreness or performance concerns. A session with the MedKey identified a few minor dysfunctions, which isn’t uncommon in competition horses that are training, travelling and working regularly.

What I find interesting is watching the body’s response during and after treatment. Areas that initially felt firm and tight became noticeably softer, more relaxed and fluid through the muscles and tissues by the end of the session.

It’s not about finding problems where there aren’t any, it’s about supporting the horse’s body to function at its best and helping maintain comfort, recovery and performance.

Every horse is different, but seeing them relax and release tension is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
