The air feels different. The earth is quiet.

Today, Sunday 21 June, we celebrate the Winter Solstice, the longest night and the turning point of the year.

This sacred pause invites us to:

✨ Slow down and rest
✨ Reflect on the lessons of the past season
✨ Release what no longer serves you
✨ Reconnect with your inner wisdom
✨ Nurture the dreams waiting to emerge

🕯️ Honour the darkness.

Not as something to fear, but as a space of healing, renewal, and possibility.

The Winter Solstice reminds us that transformation often happens beneath the surface. In the stillness. In the quiet. In the moments when nothing appears to be changing.

🌞 And yet, the light returns.

Little by little.

Day by day.

As the Wheel turns once more, may you find peace in the stillness, courage in the darkness, and hope in the returning light.

Your mind is already three steps ahead. Your body is still processing yesterday.

This practice from Thich Nhat Hanh brings them back together.

"Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is the only moment."

I use this when I notice I'm rushing. When my thoughts are moving faster than my feet. When I'm physically here but mentally somewhere else entirely.

Here's how:
Place one hand on your chest. Breathe in slowly and think "I calm body and mind." Breathe out and let your face soften into the smallest smile. That's it.
The smile is the key. It signals your nervous system that you're safe right now, in this moment.
Try it three times. Notice what shifts.
