Clear Results, Ongoing Gut Symptoms: Where is the Support?
A “clear” colonoscopy or gastroscopy is genuinely good news!!! - it means serious structural disease may have been ruled out.
But what happens when the person is still experiencing bloating, abdominal discomfort, reflux, constipation, diarrhoea or unpredictable bowel habits?
Too often, the conversation seems to end with: “Everything looks normal.”
Normal findings do not mean the symptoms are imaginary, nor do they necessarily mean the digestive system is functioning optimally. This is where I believe nutritional and lifestyle support deserves a much stronger place in ongoing care.
As a Clinical Nutritionist (with a Nursing background), I work alongside medical care to explore factors that may be contributing to persistent digestive symptoms, including:
* dietary patterns and individual food triggers
* fibre type and tolerance
* meal timing and digestive function
* hydration, movement, sleep and stress
* medications and nutrient considerations
* whether further investigation or medical review may be appropriate.
A clear scope should provide reassurance—but it does not always provide the complete answer. People deserve guidance about what they can do next to support their digestive health and quality of life.
If your investigations were reassuring but your symptoms continue, there may still be meaningful avenues to explore. Book in for an initial consult to discuss your concerns
