# What Are Trapped Emotions?

Did you know that according to the Emotion Code®, a trapped emotion is an energy imbalance created when an emotional experience is not fully processed by the body?

These emotional energies can become lodged within the body's energy field and may continue to influence how we feel, think, and respond to life long after the original event has passed.

Many practitioners describe trapped emotions as being about the size of a clenched fist and located in specific areas of the body. Within the Emotion Code framework, it is believed that these energetic imbalances can interfere with the body's natural energy flow and contribute to feelings of emotional heaviness, stress, overwhelm, self-sabotage, anxiety, sadness, frustration, or feeling stuck.

Over time, accumulated trapped emotions may affect relationships, confidence, decision-making, motivation, and overall wellbeing.

The fascinating part is that many people have no conscious awareness that these trapped emotions exist. Some may have originated from childhood experiences, past relationships, traumatic events, inherited emotional patterns, or significant life challenges.
