As daily routines paused for a little while, Crow's Nest Aged Care staff came together to mark Aged Care Employee Day with food and selfies.

From the kitchen to the office, team members gathered throughout the day to celebrate the people who help keep the service running and support residents every day.

The occasion was a chance to step away from the usual workload, catch up with one another and recognise the contribution each person makes.

Join us in celebrating our valuable aged care workers 🩷

Ray turns 99!

Staff and residents filled the function room at Oak Towers to recently mark the Ray's milestone birthday. There were balloons, a birthday cake at lunchtime, and a special card signed by the people who walk alongside him.

Ray's son said he had a wonderful day and is already looking forward to his 100th, right here at Oak Towers.

Join us in celebrating Ray, and the community that made his day so special 🎂

Community fun day!🤩

St James in Townsville held its annual fete on 19 July, bringing residents, families, and the wider community together for the day.

There was morning tea, a sausage sizzle, a cent sale, books, craft, cakes, and live music running throughout. Common Ground Church of Christ sent extra volunteers and ran face painting, which turned out to be a hit with the kids.

Our team was also on hand chatting about the Retirement Village and Support at Home services for anyone curious about life at St James.

Know someone who'd enjoy visiting St James? Send them our way 💛

Bringing community to our residents 💛

At Barcoo, the local playgroup visits regularly for a "Seniors and Sprouts" morning with story time, games, and plenty of hands to hold.

At Bribie Island, kindy kids joined residents for morning tea and lunch, along with more games and story time.

We can't always get residents out into the community as often as we'd like. Instead, we bring the community in, and it works both ways. Kids get grandparent figures and residents get a full house.

Yellow, blue, and a very full morning 💛

Fair Haven Aged Care in Maryborough and Barcoo Living Aged Care both pulled out the fine china recently for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. There was a sea of yellow and blue decorations, plenty of sweet and savoury food, a raffle and a lucky door draw, with over $1,000 raised for cancer research.

Show your support by flooding the comments with yellow hearts 💛💛💛

Goats and cuppas! 🐐
A small group from Nubeena Retirement Village recently took the bus out to the Vintage Cow Café in Goombungee.

It was cold and overcast, but one resident still ordered an iced coffee and didn't regret it for a second. Next door, a couple of goats had climbed onto an old car roof and were nibbling their way through a Bottle Tree. It became the main topic of conversation for the rest of the trip.

The bus headed home through Kingsthorpe and Wellcamp, everyone still talking about the goats.

We'd love to hear about your own favourite roadside surprise. Share it below.

A round of putt putt!
One of our home care participants recently spent his Tuesday at the mini golf course in Ipswich.

It's part of a regular outing run by West Moreton Home Care, getting people out of the house and doing something different, whether that's putt putt, a café visit, or just a drive somewhere new.

Home care isn't only about providing support at home - sometimes it's about getting out of it. ⛳

Jumpers & Jazz officially a hit! Thanks to everyone who came down to say hi and grab a free drink from us at the recent Jumpers and Jazz in July festival in Warwick. We had a great time meeting the locals and celebrating all things winter. We are so proud to support the Warwick community and sponsor this wonderful event. See you next year!
