Today, we Send Father’s Day Love & Hugs to ALL Dads, to our Nesting Hub Dads, to the Dads to Be, to those who step into the role of Dad, to those who are both Mum & Dad, to those who hope to become a Dad, to those who have lost their Dad & to those who have a difficult relationship with their Dad. Our thoughts and love surround each and every one of you ♥️.

Here is a little montage of some of our Wonderful Nesting Hub Dads this year, doing what they know best….which is, supporting & caring for our AMAZING Hub Mummas throughout their pregnancy, labour, birth & postpartum 🤩♥️…and, caring for their Beautiful Families too 🫶🏻.

…, and we couldn’t not include Nesting Hub Legend Gary, who provides so much care & support to his family & to ALL of us Nesting Hub Midwives & our clients & families too 🤩🫶🏻.

We always LOVE to show our support to the families that we journey along-side, and we as a team LOVE to celebrate milestones & togetherness too ✨🫶🏻.

Emma has a beautiful couple who are coming up to birth soon, and they have been part of The Lion King for many years. That’s where they met, that’s where they fell in love 🥹♥️, and this week, ahead of their 2nd baby’s birth, we decided to go as a Nesting Hub Family, to see Nick Afoa perform as Mufasa in The Lion King Australia and……., WOW!! He & the cast were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! 🤩 🎭🦁👑, and our backstage tour afterwards was Very Special too✨💛. So, Thank You VERY Much Nick & The Lion King Crew.

We also took the opportunity to meet for dinner before the show, to Celebrate Gary’s Birthday 🥳. Thank you for the delicious French treat Ennui [on-wee]] Kate & Sam…., and thanks to Kate, Emma & Lena for Gary’s thoughtful & generous gifts too🎁.

Spending our Friday night with beautiful friends & colleagues…, and with wonderful friends Sandra & Bruce was Fabulous ✨🤩♥️. So, Thank You EVERYONE ✨🤩♥️….., and Thank You to the babies who chose to hold off on coming earth-side last night, so that our whole team (and partners) could be there together ✨🫶🏻.

The Birth Stool is an integral part of our Birth Kit as Homebirth Midwives…, assisting us, our 1st time Mummas and our VBAC / HBAC Mummas in physiological labour & birth. We have an exceptionally high homebirth rate here at The Nesting Hub…., as our 1st Half of 2026 Stats Reflect…., and that makes our hearts sing 🎶 💜.

Our beautiful new Gaia Birth Stool, designed & created by Emilee from Earthside | mother. | Birth & Motherhood is now part of The Nesting Hub …, and our team couldn’t be happier about that 🤩😁.

For Those Forward Planning…..

Given that we already have several bookings for March 2027, Midwife Gail would like to give a little ‘Heads Up’, well in advance, for those who have birthed with her in the past, or would like to birth with her in the future…,

Gail (and Gary) are going to be back in their homeland of Scotland, throughout the UK & and then on into Europe from the last week of July 2027 & throughout August 2027 too.

“ Living on the other side of the world is So Wonderful!! We absolutely LOVE our lives here in Australia & indeed in Sydney 🫶🏻. But…., it also comes at a HUGE cost…, missing our family & friends WAY TOO MUCH, missing major life events & us not being there to support these beautiful people in our lives when times get tough ”.

So….., July & August 2027 is going to be the time for re-connection, for putting those feet back on Scottish soil once again and for putting arms around those who mean the world to them too.

Thank you so, so much for your understanding in this ✨💜…., and Gail looks forward to supporting & caring for many Mummas, Couples & Families from now until then & beyond 🫶🏻.

To all of You Beautiful Nesting Hub Mummas, Couples & Families out there……our next Nesting Hub Morning Tea is from 10:30am - 12:30pm on Saturday 1st August at the Gateway Hub, 24 Artarmon Road, Willoughby, 2068.

As always, there is free street parking, there is parking within the development & in the multi-storey car park at 7 Scott Street too 🫶🏻. There is also lift access directly from Artarmon Road, straight into the floor below, where a warm welcome, hugs, refreshments & nibbles await you all ✨🥹🤩💜.

Our Nesting Hub Family CANNOT WAIT to share this time with you all 🫶🏻.

✨ The Nesting Hub’s Jan to June 2026 Stats from our Beautiful Journeys ✨

Our Midwives, Birthing Mummas, Bubs and Families are ALL AMAZING!!!! 🤩🤩🤩

• 100% 1st Time Mum Homebirth Rate!!

• 95% Vaginal Birth Rate

• 50% Boys & 50% Girls

• 63% of Babies were Born in Water & 37% of Babies were Born on Dry Land

• 45% were 1st Time Mums & 55% had Birthed Before

• 15% of Clients have been VBAC Journeys

• 67% of Babies were Born Through the Day & 33% were Born at Night

• Only x2 In-labour Transfers to Hospital in 2026 so far!! Both were VBACs - one had a VBAC and one had a Repeat C Section

• X1 VBAC birthed in the Water, at Home

Risk Categorisation of Clients:
o A - 35% (Low Risk)
o B - 55% (Moderate Risk)
o C - 10% (High Risk)

• Only 2 Clients in 6 Months have required Perineal Suturing!!

• our Babies weights ranged from 2.89kg to 4.42kg

• our Babies lengths ranged from 48cm to 56cm

• 5% of our Nesting Hub Babies have been Born on their Estimated Due Date

• x3 Babies were Born on a New Moon and x2 Babies were born on a Full Moon

• We have held a 0% Induction Rate since 2026 began!!

• Saturday has been the most popular day to be born with us this year. “Saturday’s child works hard for his living!” 🥹

• We have had a 0% Emergency Transfer in 2026!!

• Manly is our most popular suburb

• All but one client has had a Physiological Third Stage of Labour at Home!

• Average Age of 1st Time Mums is 32 years and 34 years for those who have Birthed Before

• Fun Fact: 10% of Our Clients are Midwives 😊🤩💜

Our Key Messages:

o Supporting Normal Physiology and Continuity of Care with a known Midwife leads to Wonderful Outcomes for Mums and Bubs

o Our Clients wholeheartedly LOVE their Double Hip Squeezes in Labour

o Sitting Backwards on the Toilet In Labour is Soooooo Effective in Descending Babies down the birth canal

o Heat to the Perineum and Slow Birth of the Head has Reduced the Incidence of Tearing.

We are Beyond Proud of Our Midwives & Each of Our Clients & Familiessssssss. 🤩✨⭐️💜.

It was SO GREAT to have the opportunity to meet with both Principle Midwifery Manager, Simone Payn, and Pregnancy Connect Midwifery Manager Helen Donovan, from Sydney Local Health District this morning. I & our Nesting Hub Team are truly grateful to them for their endeavour, support and commitment to creating the best experience for us & our clients, and better outcomes for our mums and bubs going forward into the future too.

Publicly-Funded Homebirth & Endorsed Midwife Shared Care were also discussed, and we are excited to see more options for continuity of midwifery care & home-based care going forward.

Simone & Helen, it was really wonderful to meet you & I thank you so much for your time. Hopefully for our next catch up, all of our Nesting Hub Midwives will be free to join us.
