Headaches can be complicated, and there can be many possible causes.
But for some people, headaches may be linked to how hard the eyes work throughout the day.
This can be especially noticeable with reading, screen use, study, close work, driving or tasks that require sustained concentration.
The visual system has to focus clearly, keep both eyes working together and maintain comfort over time. If that system is under strain, some people may notice headaches, tired eyes, blur, pressure around the eyes or difficulty concentrating.
Vision is not always the cause, and you shouldn't assume it based on symptoms alone.
A comprehensive eye examination can help determine whether your prescription, focusing system or binocular vision may be part of the picture.
If headaches are sudden, severe, unusual or associated with other concerning symptoms, medical advice should always be sought.
