As we move through winter, respiratory illnesses become more common in our community. One virus that can have a significant impact on older adults is Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).
While RSV often causes mild cold-like symptoms, it can lead to more serious illness in older people, including pneumonia and other respiratory complications that may require hospital care.
π΅Free RSV Vaccination Now Availableπ΅
Under the National Immunisation Program (NIP), eligible Australians can receive an RSV vaccine free of charge.
You may be eligible if you are:
β’ 75 years and over, or
β’ An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person aged 60 years and over
