"Food allergy" and "food intolerance" often get used interchangeably, but they're actually quite different π
The big difference: allergies involve your immune system and can be life-threatening, even in tiny amounts. Intolerances are your digestive system struggling to process something. It's uncomfortable, but not usually dangerous, and often manageable with small amounts or the right approach.
Getting the right diagnosis matters, especially if your symptoms are severe. If you're unsure which one applies to you, your GP or an allergist can help π
