Each year Ricky Bree OT makes a quarterly donation to a charity of our choosing. This June we’ve made a $275 donation to Freeze MND 🥶 🧊 A cause that is close to my heart having spent my final university placement at Calvary Healthcare Bethlehem where I saw first hand the devastating impact of this disease on families. OT’s play an important role in supporting clients with MND and in palliative care. I was fortunate enough to learn from some amazing OT’s during my time there and it left a lasting impact on my OT career. This year we ‘play on’ for Neale an incredible person who leaves a lasting impact and has edged us closer to finding a cure. Vale Neale 💙

Ricky Bree OT just turned 4 🎈 Pretty proud of how far we’ve come in this time. What started as one client on a Saturday, built to doing sessions on my RDO and now providing 11 days a fortnight of service to Casey, Cardinia and parts of Baw Baw Shire. During this time we’ve opened our clinic space and been able to increase our offerings. We offer a hybrid model of service delivery with options for clinic based ( 📍 Pakenham), outreach (Schools, Kinders, childcare’s and home visits), as well as Telehealth methods of service delivery.

I feel very lucky that I get to do what I love everyday! It’s not lost on me how special it is to be welcomed into your homes and lives and help you navigate the disability journey alongside you. I’m blessed with the best families to work with that make this my favourite place to work. It truly doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do ❤️

A friendly reminder Ricky Bree OT will be closed from 4pm today and will reopen on Thursday 8th January 2026.

It has been such a huge year of growth at Ricky Bree OT launching full time in October enabling me to service more children and families. Now delivering 12 days a fortnight of service! We are so grateful for all the referrals that come our way and we’re doing our best to work through the waitlist. We understand it can be difficult waiting for therapy supports when there are such big wait times in our industry. We are excited to be delivering our first group programs alongside the lovely in January 2026, allowing us to reach more families across both Gippsland and Cardinia areas.

I’m immensely proud of all my beautiful clients for their hard work this year, along with their incredible parents who go the extra mile in advocating for their children’s needs. I’m excited to see my clients take on new challenges in the new year with many transitioning to Kinder and School.

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and school holiday period with loved ones! Take care and I look forward to seeing you all in January 2026 😊

This week we celebrate OT week and the important role OTs play in supporting children to develop their gross motor skills needed to participate in everyday play and learning. OT’s turn gross motor practice into playful and meaningful activities by using engaging obstacle courses, animal walks, yoga and so much more!

As we celebrate OT week we thought we would share some insights into the various developmental areas that OT’s can support with starting off with play. As a paediatric OT my sessions are heavily grounded in play as this is the ‘work’ of the child. Play is at the core of all of my sessions and allows us to target many functional goals along the way.

As Term 3 wraps up here in Victoria, we want to give a big high five to all the incredible kids, families, teachers and therapists who’ve worked so hard this term.

Whether your little ones are ready for rest, adventure or a bit of both we hope you have a safe and enjoyable school holidays. I will be working in a limited capacity these school holidays as I set up for a big term 4 of welcoming lots of new families to our service.
