It’s DonateLife Week! Did you know that most Australians support organ and tissue donation, but only one-third have registered?

If that’s you, take a minute this DonateLife Week to register as an organ and tissue donor at donatelife.gov.au or through Medicare.

Every year people die waiting for a transplant. One organ donor can save the lives of up to 7 people and change many more through eye and tissue donation.

Congratulations to Tracy, acting Midwifery Unit Manager in our Postnatal Ward, for receiving an Emblem of Kindness! This is a special staff recognition program to celebrate the small acts of kindness happening across the NSW Health system every day.

Tracy has demonstrated exceptional kindness through her compassionate leadership, providing genuine support to staff, particularly during times of personal vulnerability. She proactively created a safe and supportive environment, including personally checking in on a staff member outside of work to ensure their wellbeing. Her approach has strengthened trust and improved morale within the unit. This has contributed to increased staff engagement, stronger teamwork and improved service delivery, ultimately benefiting both staff wellbeing and patient outcomes.

We are celebrating an exciting milestone in our ongoing Emergency Department (ED) redevelopment as part of the $880 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct redevelopment 🏥 ⌛

A new area supporting enhanced paediatric services, and an expanded emergency assessment zone with new consultation, treatment and procedure rooms, opened this week.

Additional waiting areas within the ED also opened in the emergency assessment zone and front assessment streaming area, in addition to the interim paediatrics waiting space.

The next stage of ED works will deliver new resuscitation spaces and a new acute area.

We are excited our new ED is taking shape to serve our community for years to come!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane…? No, it’s a second tower crane! 🏗️ 🏗️

A second tower crane has officially arrived at Liverpool Hospital, marking more exciting progress on the $880 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct redevelopment.

Towering 50.6 metres above the ground, this impressive structure can be spotted from kilometres away and will help lift materials and equipment as construction of your future hospital continues.

Keep an eye on the skyline there's plenty more progress to come! 👀
