Sometimes people don’t need another service number… they need someone who can step in and help. ❤️

When this mother and her son found themselves in crisis, she did what so many people do when they need support.
She reached out.
She asked for help.
She contacted every service she could find.

Everyone wanted to help, but like many services across Queensland, organisations are under increasing pressure and demand continues to grow.

The reality is that sometimes people fall into the gap between needing urgent support and having nowhere safe to go.

That is where the TwoHearts Crisis Response Program comes in.

After finding our website and submitting a referral, our team was able to work quickly to help provide a safe roof over their heads within 24 hours.

This is why we created this program.
To help people during moments of crisis when they feel overwhelmed, unsure, and don’t know where else to turn.
But we cannot do this alone.

Our response is built through collaboration with housing providers, community organisations and people who believe that everyone deserves safety, dignity and support during their most difficult moments.

We are currently looking to connect with:

🤝 Community organisations wanting to be part of this response

Sometimes you just need a bit of sunshine. ☀️🌿

Today I had one of those moments where I felt like I just needed to get outside, stand on some grass, and soak up the sun for a little while.

Honestly… it was exactly what I needed.

Does anyone else get this feeling, or am I just a little weird? 😂

Four months in and the Crisis Response Program is already making a meaningful impact. 💛

So far, we’ve supported 14 people, including children, during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

The most common reason for referral has been women and children needing urgent support while escaping domestic and family violence.

We’re building a network of safe, responsive accommodation options and we’d love more providers to join us.

Both of these photos are of Joe but they represent two very different moments in his life.

In our latest blog, Joe shares the conversation that changed the direction of his life.

Growing up surrounded by violence, hunger and fear, Joe believed that what he was experiencing was normal. At 13, he attended a Youth Insearch program where, after losing control, he expected to be punished.

Instead, three men remained calm. They listened to him, held him accountable without violence and helped him understand that his life didn’t have to continue along the same path.

That conversation didn’t magically fix everything. Years of therapy, hard work and personal growth followed but it gave Joe something every young person deserves: people who believed he had value and could create a better future.

Two years later, Joe became a youth leader in the same program.

“The Turning Point of My Life” is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a young person feels heard, supported and genuinely believed in.
