Hi, I'm Jason!

I made a career change from working as a diesel fitter/heavy diesel mechanic into the Disability and support sector, and it's been one of the most rewarding decisions I have made.

I love working with people and helping them achieve their goals, building independence and confidence and making a positive impact on the lives of awesome people I get to work with is pretty cool.

When I'm not at work, you will usually find me out 4-wheel driving and camping. I love getting off the beaten track, exploring new places and spending time outdoors.

I take immense pride in being someone others can depend on, whether in a professional setting or in my personal life. Building trust and being a reliable support system for my colleagues and the people I work with is incredibly important to me.

As a proud mother of a son who has a disability and who is now a successful Paralympian living independently, I am deeply committed to helping individuals with disabilities kick their goals.

What I love most about disability support is the people. No two days are ever the same, and I've been lucky enough to build some amazing relationships with our clients.

Being able to support someone in achieving their goals, building confidence, gaining independence, or simply brightening their day is what makes this work so rewarding.

I'm a whānau-first kind of person. I love cooking, being creative, and having a laugh. Life's too short not to enjoy the simple things.

My name is Marshall!

I am proudly employed by Essence of the Valley, a family-oriented support service based in Mackay. I work as a Support Worker, specialising in health, fitness, and nutritional care, which I incorporate into my daily support practices where appropriate and tailored to each client's individual abilities, goals, and needs.

My approach is guided by the principle of "People Helping People." I am passionate about supporting individuals living with disabilities of varying abilities and challenges, empowering them to achieve greater independence, well-being, and quality of life.

As a practising Christian, I have an unwavering faith in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. My faith shapes both my personal and professional life, encouraging me to serve others with compassion, integrity, and respect.

I strive to present myself as a firm, fair, friendly, and honest individual who is committed to representing both Essence of the Valley and the people I support to the highest standard. I take pride in delivering quality care and support while maintaining professionalism, dignity, and respect in all that I do.

I am truly grateful and blessed to be in a position to make a positive difference in the lives of others and to be part of an organisation that shares the values of care, community, and service.
