A good Support Coordinator: ✅ Checks in regularly — they don't disappear until your next plan review ✅ Helps you switch providers if one isn't the right fit ✅ Knows what's available in YOUR community, not just NDIS providers ✅ Helps you build the skills to manage your own supports over time
If your support coordinator isn't doing these things, you have the right to choose someone else. This is your plan, your funding, your choice.
Know your rights. Ask questions. Expect more.

A few months ago, some of our participants had never cooked a full meal on their own. Now, they do it every week. 🍳

This August, our ACALS Kitchen menu is bringing the flavour:
🍛 Aug 3 — Chicken Thai Curry with white rice
🍄 Aug 10 — Creamy chicken & mushroom sauce, mash & veggies
🍝 Aug 17 — Classic meatballs & spaghetti
🐑 Aug 24 — Lamb roast with veggies
🍜 Aug 31 — Pad Thai chicken

Cooking Class runs every Monday and is available under your NDIS plan.

Most people think a support coordinator just books appointments. That's only a fraction of what they can do. 👇

A support coordinator's real job is to connect you with the right combination of:
🔹 NDIS support
🔹 Community programs
🔹 Mainstream services
🔹 Government resources

So you have the best possible network around you — not just the biggest list of providers.

They should build a plan around YOUR goals, help you use your funding wisely, adjust your budget as your needs change, and always — ALWAYS — put you first.

Not the provider. Not their agency. You.

♻️ Giving furniture a second life! 🪑✨
In today's Upcycle & Recycle class, our participants got hands-on restoring and repairing a piece of furniture for the home — sanding, painting, and turning something old into something amazing.
A great example of creativity, patience, and teamwork 💜

We saved the best for last 🍝🥐

This July, we wrapped up our Cooking Class with something truly special — homemade pasta and cannoli, made from scratch by our incredible participants.

Watching someone create a dish like this with their own hands, from start to finish, is a reminder of what Cooking Class is really about. It's not just about food. It's about confidence, independence, and the joy of doing something you never thought you could.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this month 💜 We can't wait to see what August brings.
