Scientific Officer – Core Laboratory
4Cyte Pathology is a new, Sydney-based pathology laboratory providing exceptional clinical diagnostic services to healthcare practitioners and the local community.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Scientific Officer to be part of our expanding team. This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified scientist to apply their knowledge and skills to play an essential role in the provision of a quality diagnostic services.
The key responsibility of this full-time position is to perform diagnostic chemistry and haematology procedures and tests in compliance with the department’s established protocols, as well as other areas of the laboratory as needed.
The successful candidate must possess knowledge of clinical chemistry and haematology, with demonstrated experience in morphology review. High level communication and computer skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently in both a team environment and unsupervised are also essential for success in being selected for this role. In addition, the candidate must prove their familiarity with the quality management requirements of medical laboratories, demonstrate competency in clinical chemistry and haematology, be adaptable to change, and have demonstrated knowledge of chemical and biological hazards and precautions within a core laboratory. The successful candidate will also be required to perform routine administrative duties and any other reasonable duties as requested by the Supervising Scientist or delegate.
Availability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and on-call is a must.
Knowledge and experience in other disciplines of clinical diagnostics will be looked at favourably.
