Bleeding in pregnancy can be very scary! It is not normal but is very common and can happen to 1 in 4 women. Sometimes the bleeding can be explained by a subchorionic hematoma or even in*******se but often we do not know the cause of bleeding. All early pregnancy bleeding does not mean it is a miscarriage. If you have bleeding in pregnancy, it is important not to panic but call your Midwife or local hospital. If you are soaking through pads within one hour it is important to seek medical attention.
Bleeding in Pregnancy:
• Not considered normal, but very common (affects 1 in 4 women).
• Can be caused by things like a subchorionic haematoma or in*******se, though often no cause is found.
• Try not to panic, but contact your midwife or local hospital for advice.
• Seek urgent care if you are soaking a pad within an hour

Over the past 6 weeks I’ve had the privilege of caring for this gorgeous girl & her mother. Lauren is one of the strongest women I have met and has been able to work through her birth trauma and handle the daily postnatal struggles with strength and commitment! The kind words she has said are amazing and I’m so proud of where she is now! Lilli is absolutely gorgeous and she is lucky to have you 💜

Today recognises how great midwives are and all the words below plus many more describe the amazing midwives I work with! All the hard work is worth it for one of the most rewarding jobs out there and now having the opportunity to be with women and share their pregnancy and postnatal journey is such a privilege! 💜💜💜

Here are some facts about your mucous plug:
• it is a collection of mucus in the cervix that protects your uterus from infection.
• Usually clear or off-white, with a sticky, stretchy texture.
• Commonly lost after 37 weeks but can occur earlier.
• Losing it may mean your cervix is softening.
• Can be a sign of labour, but unlikely without other symptoms like contractions.
If you think you have lost it without any other symptoms you can call your midwife. No need to panic or worry! 💜

Recognising Tired Signs in Your Baby can keep everyone calm but can be very hard to do! All babies have good days and bad days!
• Spotting early tired signs can help you settle your baby more easily.
• Before settling, check they are fed, have a clean nappy, and are comfortably dressed (not too hot or cold).
Common tired signs:
• Yawning
• Crying
• Sucking fists
• Red eyebrows
• Jerky movements
