Can we talk about the tired that a good night’s sleep just… doesn’t fix?

Often that wiped-out feeling has less to do with how much you’re doing, and more to do with the little voice insisting whatever you got done still wasn’t enough.

When you’re already close to empty, that voice just piles more onto a nervous system that’s been flat out for a long time. So you push harder, the tank gets emptier, and you blame yourself, when really your body is just (not so gently) asking you to stop.

⭐️ Follow along for more chats about burnout and how your nervous system actually heals.

Healing isn't just about the big breakthroughs in session. It's mostly about the tiny, uncomfortable choices you make in the other 10,000 minutes of your week.

If you did any of these recently, you get a gold star

Burnout is not the same as being tired, and that's exactly why rest alone doesn't fix it.

Tiredness responds to sleep.

Burnout is the result of prolonged stress, and it can sit with you for years if it's never properly addressed. A long weekend or a week of leave can take the edge off, but it won't undo what's built up underneath.

Part of what makes it so hard to change is that it's rarely caused by one thing. Too much work plays a role, but so does doing work that's stopped feeling meaningful.

We attach a lot of value to the meaning in what we do, so when it feels like you're not making a difference, or you're not being noticed or appreciated, it slowly wears on your mental health.

Add in too few resources, unclear expectations, or having little say in the decisions that affect you, and the load compounds.

If any of this sounds familiar, the most useful first step is a simple one. Give yourself some breathing room, and get honest about what you actually need.

Save this for the day you need the reminder, and send it to someone who's been running on empty.

Making the choice to start therapy takes an immense amount of energy.

By the time you are ready to reach out, you don't need to be told to "join the waitlist and we will call you in four months."

You need support now.

Because we are a Telehealth-only practice, you don't have to worry about commuting, finding parking, or sitting in a waiting room. You can join your session from your couch, your office, or wherever you feel safest.

If you are ready to take that first step today, you can view our current availability and book a 15-minute meet-and-greet through the link in our bio 🤍

Your inner critic has one job: ignore everything you're doing well and pounce on every mistake.

It's the voice that calls you too much, not enough, or just plain wrong before you've even had a chance to try.

And if it goes unchallenged? It will chip away at your mood, your confidence, and your sense of self.

One place to start is noticing what your inner critic actually says then asking: what would an encouraging coach say instead?

That shift from critic to coach is where the self-compassion starts to become real 🤍

💬 What does your inner critic tend to say most often? Drop it below
