📺 Did you know Australia has a TV show created entirely by the disability community?

AbiliTV is Australia's only national television and digital series that is hosted, produced and crewed by people with disabilities.

Each episode shares authentic stories, celebrates achievements, challenges stereotypes and explores important topics including accessibility, employment and the NDIS.

But AbiliTV is more than a TV show.

🎬 Through hands-on media workshops, AbiliTV is creating opportunities for aspiring media professionals with disabilities to gain real industry experience and build pathways into the screen sector.

📡 Watch weekly on C31 Melbourne and C44 Adelaide

More than 3 million Australians provide unpaid care for a loved one everyday.

Whether you're supporting a family member living with disability, chronic illness, mental health challenges, dementia or age-related needs, caring can be rewarding but it can also take a toll on your own wellbeing.

That's why services like Carer Gateway exist.

Carer Gateway provides free support for eligible unpaid carers, including:
✨ Counselling and wellbeing support
✨ Peer support and coaching
✨ Emergency respite services
✨ Practical information and resources

Caring for someone else shouldn't mean carrying everything on your own. Support is available when you need it.

Everyone counts and everyone deserves the opportunity to participate.

With Census Day on 11 August, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is making accessibility a priority, helping ensure people living with disability, older Australians and others who may face barriers can complete the Census with confidence.

The 2026 Census includes a range of accessible support options, including:
♿ Screen reader compatible online forms
🖥️ Support for assistive technologies, magnification and switch devices
🤟 Auslan video guides
🔤 Closed captions and written transcripts
📖 Braille (Grade 1 and Grade 2) forms on request
🔎 Large print paper forms

Why does this matter? Because Census data helps inform decisions about the services, infrastructure and support our communities need. When everyone can participate, everyone has the opportunity to be represented.

✅ Remember, the Census is compulsory and everyone in Australia on Census night must be included, including visitors and visa holders.

An accessible Census helps build a more inclusive Australia.

At 2pm AEST on Monday 27 July, phones, smartwatches and tablets across Australia will receive a test emergency alert from AusAlert.

This is only a test. There is not a real emergency.

Your device may make a loud sound or vibrate, even if it is on silent or 'Do Not Disturb'. This is normal.

You do not have to do anything when this alert comes through. You can continue to use your device after the alert is finished.

If you might be worried by the alert, you may want to organise to be somewhere you feel safe and supported at 2pm when the alert goes off.

You can also stop the alert by turning your device off or switching it to aeroplane mode before 2pm, for at least one hour.

For more information about the AusAlert test, including what it looks and sounds like, visit: https://www.ausalert.gov.au/alerts-explained/national-test

This NAIDOC Week, we honour 50 years of deadly pride, culture and resilience.

This year’s theme, “50 Years of Deadly”, marks a powerful milestone in NAIDOC Week, honouring the Elders, activists, artists and communities who have led the way in strength, culture and truth-telling.

It’s a celebration of resistance and resilience - of stories shared, languages kept strong, art that speaks, and communities that continue to show up for Country and culture.

It also looks ahead to the next 50 years, young people growing up proud, language returning, culture thriving, and voices continuing the fight for justice in new and powerful ways.

✨ At Complete Care, we reflect on the legacy of those who came before and the young people who carry it forward, ensuring culture, connection and community continue to thrive for generations to come.
