Have you ever walked out of an appointment with more information, but less clarity?

Knowing what's happening is important, but understanding what it means for you is what helps you move forward with confidence.

Bresser et al's 2026 systematic review of nearly 20,000 consultations found that longer appointments were consistently linked to higher observed shared decision-making - the single strongest predictor of it, in fact.

That time investment pays off in how patients feel about it too: a 2024 study of over 12,000 outpatients found that longer consultations were associated with significantly higher patient satisfaction with their involvement in decisions about their own care (Tian et al., 2024).

We're seeing that partnership evolve every day. Women are arriving informed, having read, listened, spoken to other health professionals and thought carefully about what's been happening in their own bodies. They're bringing questions, sharing what's already been tried and looking for a conversation rather than simply being told what to do.

At Arami, we believe having the knowledge to better understand your health is one of the most empowering things you can do. That's why we create space for conversation, explain the reasoning behind our recommendations and work alongside you to make decisions that feel right for you.

Because the best healthcare doesn't happen to you. It happens with you.

If you'd like to explore this idea further, our latest blog looks at how understanding your health can help you feel more confident, informed and involved in the decisions you make about your care.

When you don't understand what's happening to your body, it's difficult to know what to do next.

At Arami, we believe women deserve more than a diagnosis.

They deserve to understand it.

In our latest blog, we explore how understanding your health can transform the way you experience it, giving you the confidence to ask questions, make informed decisions and advocate for the care you need.

What if PMDD has been hiding behind symptoms you’ve always attributed to ADHD?

Research is showing a significant overlap between the two, which can make cyclical changes in mood, concentration and emotional regulation harder to recognise.

Our latest blog explores why PMDD can be missed in women with ADHD, and why recognising the pattern is important.

Read the full blog:

Up to 45% of women with ADHD also have PMDD. Dr Kafa Lee explains why the two conditions overlap so heavily, how to tell them apart, and what integrated treatment looks like.

Every woman deserves the time, space and support to feel heard. It's often in those conversations that understanding and empowerment begins.

“I’m sorry, I’m probably talking too much.”

“Maybe I’m overthinking this.”

Or even, “It’s probably nothing.”

These are phrases I’ve heard many times over the years, often from women who have already started minimising their own concerns before anyone else has had the chance to respond.

Sometimes, that comes from previous experiences of not feeling heard. Sometimes, it comes from a fear of being dismissed, told what to do or pushed towards a decision before they feel ready.

Earlier in my career, I often felt a responsibility to find solutions quickly when patients came to me with a problem. Over time, I’ve come to understand that an immediate answer is not always what someone needs most.

Sometimes, the first step is simply listening to their story.

If you tell me you are not ready, I will respect that. I am not here to convince you to follow the path I think is best. I want to understand what you are experiencing, what matters to you and what you feel ready for.

I may bring medical knowledge, but you bring your own experiences, values and instincts. Those things are equally important when deciding what the next step should be.

I believe that when women feel heard rather than judged or pressured, healthcare becomes less about being directed and more about working together.

That is often when hope returns.

And for me, that is where empowerment begins.

Healthcare as self-care. That’s the feeling we’re building from the ground up 🩺✨

We are so excited to share a first look at the design concepts for our future Arami clinic, brought to life by the brilliant team at .

We wanted to completely redefine what stepping into a medical clinic feels like. Think warm, tactile finishes that feel more like a sanctuary than a doctor's office.

Every corner is being mindfully crafted to help you feel safe, calm, and truly cared for the moment you walk through the door.

From the beginning, Arami has been built around a simple belief: women deserve access to thoughtful, evidence-based care that gives them the time, space and support to feel heard.

I'm pleased to introduce Dr Cecilia (Cece) Akinloye, an independent GP who will be consulting via telehealth through Arami Women's Health from late July.

With over a decade of experience and a special interest in perimenopause and menopause, Dr Cece has completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society. Her approach is centred on listening first, providing personalised, evidence-based care, and helping women feel informed and confident in their healthcare decisions.

"As I got to know Dr Cece, it became clear that we share a similar philosophy of care. We both believe that good healthcare begins with listening and taking the time to understand each woman's individual circumstances." - Dr Kafa Lee, our founder.

We are delighted that women accessing care through Arami will have the opportunity to consult with Dr Cece.

I’m so excited to officially introduce Dr Cecilia Akinloye, who joins us at Arami Women’s Health from next Thursday. 💛

Dr Cece shares the same whole-person, evidence-based approach to women's healthcare that Arami was built on. She'll be offering telehealth consultations for:✨ Perimenopause & menopause✨ PMDD✨ Women's health

Having another doctor who genuinely understands these areas means more women can access the compassionate, unhurried care they deserve.
Please join me in giving Dr Cece a very warm welcome! 🌿

Appointments are now available to book via the link in our bio.

"I'm just stressed."

"I'm just busy."

"It’ll pass.”

For many women, it’s easy to explain away symptoms, but what if those changes are worth understanding rather than pushing through?

In our latest blog, we explore why prevention in women's health starts with recognising patterns, understanding the whole picture and having the right conversations before symptoms become overwhelming.

With World Brain Day approaching later this month, it's a reminder that brain health isn't only about memory.

Sometimes it looks like brain fog, forgetfulness or feeling mentally exhausted. Other times, it’s everyday life taking more effort than it used to.

It's easy to assume you're just busy or getting older. But persistent changes deserve to be understood.

Swipe through to explore five changes in brain health that may be worth paying attention to, and why recognising them early is an important part of prevention.

This information is general in nature and isn't a substitute for personalised medical advice. If you've noticed persistent changes in your health, consider booking a consultation to discuss your symptoms.
