“He’s just being difficult.”
We hear this far too often.

Sometimes a child who refuses to go to school isn’t being “defiant.”
Sometimes a teenager who explodes in anger isn’t “attention seeking.”
Sometimes an adult who isolates themselves isn’t “lazy.”

Behaviour is communication.

Behind challenging behaviours there may be anxiety, trauma, autism, ADHD, emotional overwhelm, sensory difficulties, or simply years of feeling misunderstood.

At Able Up, we don’t start by asking:
❌ “How do we stop this behaviour?”

We start by asking:
✅ “What is this behaviour trying to tell us?”

Understanding the why changes everything.

As a Clinical Psychologist, Francesco works with children, adolescents, adults and families to identify the underlying causes—not just the visible symptoms—so that therapy leads to meaningful, lasting change rather than short-term behaviour management.

If you, your child, or someone you support through the NDIS is struggling, we’re here to help.

“We’re just waiting to see if they grow out of it…”

If you’ve ever said this about your child, you’re not alone.

Many parents notice early signs that something isn’t quite right—big emotions, challenging behaviours, difficulty with transitions, anxiety, or struggles at childcare or school.

The hardest part? Being told to “wait.”

At Able Up, we believe families deserve support when they need it, not months or years later.

Our Clinical Psychologist, Dr Francesco Cataldo, works with children, adolescents, and adults, providing practical, evidence-based support tailored to each person’s unique needs.

We currently have availability for:
✅ NDIS Therapeutic Supports
✅ Behaviour support and parent coaching
✅ ADHD, Autism, Cognitive & Functional Capacity Assessments
✅ Anxiety, emotional regulation and mental health support

We offer:
🏡 Mobile visits (where appropriate)
🏢 In-person appointments in Melbourne
💻 Australia-wide Telehealth

If you’re unsure whether psychology is the right next step, feel free to reach out. Sometimes a simple conversation is all it takes to point a family in the right direction.

📩 Referrals and enquiries are welcome.

“He’s only 3… he’ll grow out of it.”
Many parents hear this when they ask for help.

Sometimes that’s true. But sometimes challenging behaviours are a child’s way of saying, “I’m struggling and I don’t know how to tell you.”

Frequent meltdowns, aggression, difficulty following directions, anxiety, rigid routines, emotional outbursts, or problems settling into childcare don’t always disappear with time. Early support can make a real difference, not just for your child, but for the whole family.

At Able Up, we support young children (including those under 5) and work closely with parents to understand why behaviours are happening, not just how to stop them. Our approach is evidence-based, compassionate, and tailored to each child’s developmental needs.

You don’t have to wait until things become overwhelming.

If you’re worried about your child’s behaviour or emotional development, we’re here to help. Dr Francesco Cataldo is a Family (Clinical) Psychologist with extensive experience in the field.

“I don’t know if my participant needs a Functional Capacity Assessment.”

We hear this all the time.

A Functional Capacity Assessment isn’t just another report.

It’s about understanding how a person’s disability impacts their everyday life— at home, in the community, at work, in education, and in relationships.

A well-written assessment can help demonstrate:
✅ Daily living challenges
✅ Functional strengths
✅ Areas where additional support may be required
✅ The rationale behind recommended NDIS supports

At Able UP, we don’t just complete assessments.

We take the time to understand the person behind the paperwork. Our reports are based on comprehensive clinical interviews, evidence-based assessment, functional observations, and collaboration with participants, families and support teams.

Every recommendation is made with one goal in mind:

Helping people build a more independent and meaningful life.

If you’re a Support Coordinator, Plan Manager, GP or family member wondering whether a Functional Capacity Assessment could help, we’d be happy to have a conversation.

Today we're excited to officially introduce Able Up.

Able Up was created with a simple goal: to provide high-quality psychological support that is compassionate, practical and tailored to each person's unique needs.

We work with children, adolescents and adults, supporting participants, families and support coordinators through evidence-based therapy, psychological assessments and NDIS therapeutic supports.

Whether you prefer to meet in person at our Eltham clinic, in your own home, or via telehealth anywhere in Australia, our aim is always the same: to create a safe space where people feel heard, understood and supported.

We're looking forward to building strong relationships with participants, families and the wider community, and to making a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Thank you for joining us at the beginning of this journey.
