The Business of Food Newsletter is out! There's only one tradeshow left in 2026 for those that are looking for help with equipment, foods, education, packaging and other food business support. The next Food Focus Network in Frankston will be the second last for this year. You'll be looking for trading opportunities in the leadup to Christmas before you know it!

Where did those last two weeks disappear to? We've been busy with the new Ignite program and more workshops with Councils. If you are a food business, please sign up to your Council newsletter to see what help they offer you. In the meantime, here's the collection of Food Focus Network events we have planned for the next six weeks!

In Frankston and Dandenong we get to meet in person, but we connect with food business owners all over Australia in our Free online session.

Our networking events present an opportunity to interact, share with and learn from others - always over a plate of food. Join us!

It's been a busy month of networking, programs and workshops, but there's always time for good food!

Earlier this year we were approached by a forward-thinking Mernda Neighbourhood House looking for a way to support the talented cooks in their area by exploring the possibility of creating a business from their delicious cultural foods.

Taking the principles of our Ignite Food Passions program, the team of experts delivered modified workshops on what it takes to expand beyond the impactful (and tasty) community lunches into the world of catering and retail. I think I learned as much as the participants did! I know I thoroughly enjoyed the research and fruits of their labour. 😋 Congratulations to all the participants. Watch this space!

Thanks also go to the Australian Neighbourhood Houses & Centres Association for the grant support that enabled the program delivery.
