A conversation can make a difference.

Today, our homes and offices marked R U OK? Day in their own ways, creating opportunities for employees and residents to spend time together, check in and start conversations about wellbeing.

While today gives us an important reminder to ask the question, looking out for the people around us matters every day.

Ask. Listen. Encourage action. Check in.

From unexpected materials to original designs, creativity was on full display as our Queensland residents took on Eco Fashion Week Australia.

Residents from Regis Aspley, Regis Caboolture, Regis Lodges on George, Regis Sandgate Lucinda, Regis Sandgate Musgrave, Regis Sandgate Griffith and Regis Wynnum have spent weeks designing, making and reimagining materials into their own runway creations, before coming together at Regis Sandgate Musgrave to see their work take centre stage.

After plenty of creativity made its way down the runway, Regis Wynnum was named the Queensland cluster 3 winner!

This Australian Women’s Health Week, we’re celebrating the importance of women looking after their health and wellbeing at every stage of life.

As we age, our health needs can change, but feeling heard, respected and supported should always matter. It’s also important that women feel comfortable talking openly about their health and asking for the support they need.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a difference – staying active, getting enough rest, keeping up with regular health checks and making time to talk about how we’re really feeling.

This week is a good reminder to check in with ourselves, and with the women in our lives.

Like father, like son.

Roy and Cameron share more than a workplace at Regis. From work ethic and perseverance to bringing people together, Cameron has carried plenty of lessons from his dad into his own life.

Now there’s a new generation in the family, with Cameron celebrating Father’s Day as a dad to baby Alexandra.

We sat them down together to find out what they’ve learnt from each other and what fatherhood means to them.

Happy Father’s Day to Roy, Cameron and all the fathers and father figures in our Regis community.

Regis Greenbank residents in Queensland recently had a beautiful day enjoying a special visit from a local farm.

The Home's residents met some very friendly goats, cuddled up with guinea pigs and even hung out with a one-week-old piglet!

Yesterday marked a very special milestone at Regis Camp Hill, Patricia's 100th birthday.

Patricia celebrated the day with her children, four daughters and three sons. Her daughters came in to help her get ready, dressing her in a special outfit and doing her makeup fit for the occasion. Patricia shared that she felt especially happy and beautiful on her big day.

When asked how it feels to turn 100, Patricia said, “It feels unreal. I can’t believe it, I don’t feel 100!”.

Local MP Steve Minnikin also dropped in for the party, celebrating Patricia and her incredible century of life.

Last Friday, we recognised Wear It Purple Day across our homes, showing our support for LGBTIQ+ inclusion and belonging.

This year’s theme, Colours of Courage, is a reminder of the importance of creating communities where everyone feels respected and safe to be themselves.

Residents and employees got involved by wearing purple, decorating their homes and coming together for activities and conversations that celebrate inclusion.

As August draws to a close, we're looking back at how our Queensland homes embraced the spirit of Ekka season with festive carnival celebrations.

At Regis Chelmer, residents, families and employees enjoyed a wonderful day in true Ekka style, with farm animals, strawberry ice creams and show bags handmade by the team.

At Regis Sandgate Musgrave, visitors from six nearby homes came together for a fun-filled day of games and entertainment.

Lifestyle Coordinator Jessica Gibbs said, "It was such a wonderful day, many residents have already expressed their enthusiasm for making this a yearly tradition!"
