Have you ever stopped and thought, “Wait… why does that even make sense?”
Today we’re talking about all those little things in everyday life that just don’t seem to add up! From disappearing socks and missing TV remotes to weird rules, funny sayings and things we’ve always wondered about. Wednesday is all about employment and employment preparation at Umbrella Support, and once again this crew were absolutely crazy busy! ☕️🙌

Our team worked hard building their workplace skills, confidence and independence throughout the day.

In the afternoon, we also took some time to recognise World Mental Health Day, coming up this Saturday 💚

Together, we created a Kindness Jar filled with positive affirmations. From Friday, our customers can grab a coffee and take a little reminder of kindness and positivity with them. 💛

Because sometimes, a small positive message can make a really big difference.

🍝 Yumbrella Cooking Day! 👩‍🍳

Today our Yumbrella crew got busy in the kitchen making delicious homemade Ricotta Gnocchi! 😋

From preparing the gnocchi to creating our own tomato and creamy mushroom sauces, everyone got involved and had plenty of fun along the way.

There’s nothing better than learning new skills, cooking together and enjoying the delicious results! ❤️

Nothing says spring quite like planting sunflowers in beautifully designed and painted pots! 🌻🎨

That’s exactly what our team got up to today. We got creative, got our hands dirty and planted some beautiful sunflowers that we’ll be watching grow over the coming weeks.

We can’t wait to see these little beauties burst into flower! 🌻💛

Grey skies and rainy weather didn’t stop us from getting out and about for travel training today! ☔🚌

We worked together to decide where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do.

With our destination set, we jumped on the bus, using the PTV app to plan our journey and build our travel skills along the way.

Thankfully, we remembered to take an umbrella! ☂️

Another great day of building confidence, developing independence and learning valuable life skills, rain or shine!

Our Wednesday started with a very busy morning rush in the Lyrebird Community Centre café, with our incredible team putting their skills into action and keeping everything running smoothly.

The afternoon then focused on an important workplace session with Cindy and Martina from Faith Disability Services looking at the importance of being punctual, respectful and responsible in any workplace.
