What if you could be part of someone's farewell without ever having to say a word?

When we think about a funeral, we often picture someone standing at the microphone delivering a eulogy or reading.

But there are so many other beautiful ways to be involved.

A meaningful farewell can include the people who were important to your loved one — a partner, child, sibling, grandchild, friend or even a workmate.

They might share a favourite story, read a poem, deliver a eulogy, choose photographs, light a candle or simply stand beside the family for support.

And if someone doesn't feel comfortable speaking, that's okay too. Being involved doesn't always mean standing at the microphone.

They might:

🌿 Place a favourite flower beside the coffin or urn.
📖 Bring a treasured book, photograph or special keepsake to be displayed.
🕯️ Light a candle or take part in a small symbolic ritual.

Sometimes it's these little personal touches that make a farewell feel truly personal and meaningful.

As a funeral celebrant, I believe a ceremony should reflect the person being remembered and the people who loved them.

Sometimes it's the little things — a funny story, a familiar voice, a favourite memory or a special ritual — that make a farewell truly meaningful. ❤️
