A Teenager can have a whole different world happening in their mind, their body and their brain…….
A World that they don’t know how to communicate, a world they don’t know how to navigate……
They might not have a safe person to lean on, or the right environment to let their guard down, a parent that’s not distracted by the busy world or parents that don’t even know how to navigate their own emotions.
In this current life most parents have to work to get ahead or just keep floating. They have their own unprocessed emotions.
No judgement 💫
Meanwhile our Teenagers have so much more to navigate in this modern world, too much awareness and exposure to things their innocent minds just arent ready to process.
Meanwhile, their minds can be full of hopes, dreams, fears, worries, or traumas that no one knows of…….
Pressures to be this way or that way…..
I was that Teenager once, with trauma no one was fully aware of - no one safe to help navigate through it.
Know your children so well that you know when things are a bit off, or hugely off. Teach them how to communicate, help them feel safe in their bodies, in their world.
Learn to listen, not judge, not shame.
I have two adult children, I think I know them better than themselves! It’s our job as parents to help them navigate the world. So they’re ready when it’s time to leave the nest 🪹
Communication is everything.
