Nurtured by Ange Supporting families on their postpartum journey Hello my name is Ange and I am married with a family living in Moranbah.

I am a Postpartum Doula offering nurturing care for mummies and families that are on their postpartum journey. I am a compassionate and caring person by nature. I agree with Julia Jones from Newborn Mothers as she says 'Once a new baby is born, so is a mother'. I strongly believe, caring for a newborn mother is equally as important as caring for the baby. I can help care for mum and the family while mummy cares for her baby.

Postpartum care looks different for everyone. 🧡

And honestly, I think caring for ourselves and our families looks different in every season of parenting too.

As a mum of adult children and young children, it can be hard for my husband and I to get away. So when I had a wedding photography job that took me away, I decided to turn it into a little getaway for us too.

But how did I make that happen?

I called on my tribe.

🧡 My mum came out and took over the daily care, routines and love of my 7 and 12-year-olds.

🧡 My big kids watched the dog.

🧡 Friends and acquaintances helped with drop-offs and pick-ups.

And you know what?

I’m the first to admit that you cannot do this parenting gig alone.

Not sustainably.
Not forever.
And definitely not without it eventually impacting your relationship, your family or yourself.

One of the biggest things I’ve learnt from leaning on my village is this:

They actually WANT to help.

Because helping someone feels good. It gives people a sense of connection, purpose and belonging.

Yet we get so stuck in our own heads thinking:

“We chose to have kids, so we should be able to do this ourselves.”

“If I ask for help, people will think I can’t handle parenting.”

Both are lies we tell ourselves.

Asking for help doesn't mean you aren't coping.

It means you're human.

And if you call on your people and there are hidden agendas, judgement or conditions attached to their help… perhaps they simply aren't your people.

Find your village.

Find the people who show up because they love you.
The people who want to make life a little easier.
The people who understand that sometimes we all need a hand.

Because parenting was never meant to be a solo sport.

Humans caring for humans. 🧡

COMMUNITY = IMMUNITY 🧡

I actually practised what I preach today.

Not with my usual sisterhood tribe—they live too far away—but with a newly found tribe of incredible women, all working in the pregnancy, birth and postpartum space.

We shared a cuppa, connected, laughed, and maybe even shed a tear or two. But more than anything, I walked away feeling like I belonged to something. Funny how the universe works... because I really needed that.

We're all so different, yet so alike. Different walks of life, but walking the same path, united by one common purpose: you.

To all the mummies, daddies, and parents-to-be—you are our number one priority. You're at the heart of the work we do, what we advocate for, and the gentle shifts we're helping create in the way pregnancy, birth and postpartum are experienced and supported.

Today reminded me that while we spend so much of our time pouring into others, we need community too. And I'm so grateful to have found a little more of mine. 🧡
