I am running low on California Poppy tincture, so I pulled up some plants yesterday to make some more. 🧡 I usually make this tincture when the plant is in bloom, but I’ve added some dried flowers that I harvested in summer.

California Poppy is a cooling and drying plant and is indicated for insomnia, pain management (especially nerve-generated pain), anxiety and panic attacks. 🌿

I made Mexican Marigold (Tagetes lemmonii) flower tea for the first time. 💛 This fragrant shrub needs frequent trimming, and I usually just use the cuttings as mulch. I knew that this plant has medicinal uses, so I thought I should learn about them. ✨

Mexican Marigold has anti-inflammatory and mild analgesic (pain-relieving) actions. It is indicated for gastritis and pain from intestinal gas. It can be used topically for wound healing.

The fresh flower tea has a calming, uplifting and slightly numbing effect. I will try a tea with the fresh leaves next time. I might also make a tincture with it and dry some for teas. 🍵🌿
