Wʜᴇɴ sᴇʟғ-ᴄᴀʀᴇ ʙᴇᴄᴏᴍᴇs ᴀ ᴄʜᴏʀᴇ...
School holidays are around the corner.
For many parents, this means: Quick, quick! Let's get everything sorted before the holidays begin. Finish those outstanding jobs, organise activities, catch up on life admin, and maybe squeeze in a lunch with a friend, a beach walk, or an hour at the spa before things get hectic again.
Have you ever reached the point where self-care feels like just another task on the to-do list?
I have.
I've had times when life felt so full that catching up with a dear friend seemed like too much effort. Times when I skipped the beach walk because there were other things that felt more urgent.
And yet, when I keep pushing self-care to the bottom of the list, I end up feeling exhausted, depleted, miserable, and not much fun to be around.
That's usually my cue to stop and review my priorities.
YOU COME FIRST.
Not because you're selfish.
Not because everything else can wait.
But because when your cup is empty, it's so much harder to care for everyone else.
Of course, that's often easier said than done, especially if you've spent months—or years—putting yourself last.
The thing is, habits form quickly. The helpful ones and the unhelpful ones.
So why not nurture the habits that fill your cup?
The habits that restore your energy, lift your spirit, and help you meet life's demands with a little more ease and a lot more joy.
✨ Self-care isn't another thing to do.
It's the foundation that helps you do everything else.
