Payge and Tanya were excited to attend SACID's Leading Through Inclusion 2026 event in Adelaide this week.

Payge, who represents Queensland on Our Voice, Inclusion Australia's Advisory Committee, joined representatives from across Australia to present on how being involved in governance has helped build confidence, set goals and become more independent.

Tanya, Loud and Clear Qld Coordinator, made new connections, sharing the work of Parent to Parent Queensland and experiencing another fantastic event focused on inclusion and self-advocacy.

As Tanya and Payge head home to Queensland today, we're incredibly proud of the way they represented our community. We can't wait to hear about the new ideas, conversations and connections they'll bring back to help strengthen self-advocacy across Queensland.

Safe travels home, Tanya and Payge!

📱 A national AusAlert test is happening tomorrow - Monday 27 July.

At 2:00pm (AEST) in Queensland, all compatible mobile phones (and some smart watches and tablets) across Australia will receive a test AusAlert.

🔔 What will happen?
Your device may:
• Vibrate
• Play a loud siren-like sound for around 10 seconds
• Display a message that clearly says it is a test

✅ You don't need to do anything. It's simply a nationwide test of Australia's new emergency warning system, which will launch in October 2026.

If you don't receive the alert, that's okay too. Devices may respond differently depending on their age, software, mobile network and signal.

💙 A reminder for our community: If you or someone you support may find unexpected loud sounds or emergency alerts distressing, you can prepare by switching your device off or putting it into aeroplane mode before 2:00pm, then leaving it off for at least one hour. This is the only way to avoid receiving the test alert.

The purpose of the test is to make sure the new system is ready to help keep Australians informed and safe during real emergencies.
