Well-being in the Pilbara A group of passionate NSHS students have created a community space for people in the Pilbara that are, or have been, impacted by depression.

A group of Newman Senior High School students that are passionate about creating a community space where people that are, or have been, impacted by depression can connect, find support and access resources to help support themselves and others.

Over the past two days, we have had the absolute privilege of having the Foundation of Young Australians and Broken Yellow film crew here in Newman, working with us as a team. Together, we have created a short impact video that not only showcases our project, school and community...but the Pilbara region.

Last week we had the privilege of getting a tour of Newman Community Radio station. Massive shout out to Simmone and Mark for letting us watch and observe how the professionals run a radio show!

Tune in on Wednesday 13th September to Newman Community Radio at 3:30pm to hear students from NSHS discussing mental and well-being in the Pilbara!!

We will be talking about mental health issues that contribute to our immediate community, along with surrounding towns and cities.

With a Samsung Galaxy tablet to be given away and other spot prizes, this is a community event not to be missed!
