Our Grand Rounds is back on Wednesday the 26th of November at 19:00 AEDT!

We’re really excited to have Justin Sinclair joining us to talk about his PhD research on medicinal cannabis and endometriosis. Justin’s been digging into what patients are actually experiencing, the pain changes, the substitution/deprescribing patterns, the side effects, and the very real impact of stigma when it comes to talking to healthcare professionals.

He’ll be sharing insights from both the qualitative and quantitative sides of his work, plus some of the challenges that come up when lived experience races ahead of the clinical evidence.

About the Speaker:
Justin has studied medicinal plants for over 25 years, sits on multiple advisory boards, has delivered more than 150 educational lectures, and is the CSO of ANTG. He is completing his doctoral research at NICM (WSU) on cannabis for endometriosis and has authored 5 book chapters and 23 peer-reviewed papers.

👨‍🎓 A/Prof Daryl Efron — Paediatrician
MBBS, FRACP, MD
A/Prof Efron is an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne, Senior Research Fellow at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and long-time paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital for over 30 years. Daryl is active in research into better ways to treat children with developmental disorders such as autism, ADHD and Tourette syndrome. His extensive expertise in developmental and behavioural paediatrics informs his session on medicinal cannabis for paediatric developmental and behavioural disorders.

👩‍⚕️ Dr Leila Masson — Paediatrician
MD, MPH, FRACP, FACNEM, DTMH
Dr Masson is an internationally trained paediatrician specialising in nutritional and environmental medicine. With a Master in Public Health from Harvard University and completing her paediatric specialist training at the University of California San Francisco, she brings deep expertise in autism, ADHD, allergies, gut health, and particularly PANS/PANDAS, offering holistic and evidence-informed approaches to complex paediatric conditions.

A leading Sydney-based nutritionist with over 16 years’ experience, Sonya specialises in children’s nutrition, natural epilepsy support, digestive health, and family-centred nutritional therapy. Her practical, compassionate approach is shaped by both clinical expertise and lived experience supporting paediatric epilepsy within her own family.

We are pleased to announce our new office bearer roles:

Dr Adele Hosseini has been elected as our new President.
After stepping down from the President role, Dr Orit Holtzman has been elected as Vice President
Founding board member Dr Imran Khan has been appointed as our new Secretary.
Dr Daphna Dor-Shiffer will continue in her role as Treasurer.
