Every child deserves to grow up safe, heard, and supported. ✨

For National Child Protection Week in September, our team made a pledge, a commitment to taking genuine action centered on the voice of the child, supporting families, and advocating fiercely for the safety and well-being of young people.

Having spent my entire career in child protection and out-of-home care, this pledge isn’t just a yearly observance for me; it’s the foundation of everything I do and have created at Thrive360 Care.

Child Protection Week is a vital opportunity for organisations to look inward- to have robust, honest conversations with their teams, review child safety processes, and ensure everyday practice is deeply aligned with children’s rights.
In the NDIS and disability sector, we need to talk much more about the intersections of child safety.

🍃When we deliver support to adults, are we asking about the children in the home?
🍃When staff enter a participant’s home, are they equipped and confident to identify, respond to, and report child safety concerns?
🍃Are our systems truly built to listen to the child’s perspective?

Child safety is everyone’s business, across every sector, every setting, and every home we step into.

Let’s keep asking the hard questions
, pushing for accountability, and placing the rights of children at the center of practice.

🍃Of course we have strategies, policies, and procedures in place to ensure evidence-based practice and a governance structure that maintains strict visibility over our services.

🍃BUT our true strategy, is to support our staff!

We are deliberately not KPI-driven, and we don’t believe clinical or carer support should be an isolated, individual job. Instead, we purposefully invest in a positive work culture where we share clinical risk, support continuous learning, and wrap authentic care around our staff.

✨We believe that the well-being of our team is exactly what ensures the ultimate integrity, safety, and consistency of the care they deliver to our clients.

We are excited to share that we have officially settled into our new office! 📍

It has taken some time to find the right fit. Now, being based on the grounds of Westmead Health Precinct, is the perfect fit for our service.

Whilst we embrace the new hybrid workforce, having a physical point of connection has been our focus to foster our team culture, but also to ensure that we are maintaining connection with community and the people and services we collaborate with. True to our service values.

This week is a major milestone for Thrive360 Care: our mid-term audit. ✨

While audits are about frameworks and compliance, we’re choosing to view this week as a beautiful opportunity to reflect, and shine a light on what we are already doing.

Behind every piece of documentation and policy, is our unwavering commitment to doing care holistically, ethically, and with genuine care for the support we provide.

I’m proud of what we have created together and the difference we are making in the lives of the children, young people, adults and families we walk alongside.

Positive Behaviour Support is not about changing the person, it’s about changing the way we connect, understand, and support. 🌱

When we take the time to truly listen, we see behaviour as communication, not something to be “fixed”. We shift our focus to creating environments, relationships, and supports that work with the person, not against them.
It means adapting. It means being flexible. It means understanding. It means valuing their voice every step of the way and building strategies that reflect their strengths, preferences, and needs.Because everyone deserves to be supported in a way that allows them to be themselves but also, safe.
