About the Role

You will support participants with a range of needs, including:

✅ Community access and social participation
✅ Daily living skills and independence building
✅ Transport to appointments and activities
✅ Domestic assistance and household tasks
✅ Mental health and psychosocial supports
✅ Recreational activities and goal-focused mentoring
✅ Personal care (where required)

What We're Looking For

✔️ Passionate and reliable individuals
✔️ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✔️ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✔️ Flexible availability, including weekdays and weekends
✔️ Experience in disability, mental health, youth work or community services (preferred but not essential)

Essential Requirements:
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Valid Driver's Licence
Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
Smartphone for shift documentation

Position: Disability Support Worker
Location: Shoalhaven Region
Job Type: Casual
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About Us: At Inspired Abilities Support Services, we are committed to providing high-quality care and support services to individuals living with disabilities. Our team is dedicated to empowering people to live as independently as possible in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team and make a positive impact in the lives of our clients.

Role Overview: As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities in their daily activities and ensuring they have access to the services, care, and support they need to achieve their personal goals. You will work closely with clients and their families to create a safe and positive living experience, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personal care and assistance with daily tasks (e.g., bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and mobility).
• Assist with household duties, including cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
• Support individuals with accessing community activities and social events.
• Foster independence by encouraging individuals to participate in decision-making and goal-setting.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement person-centered support plans.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals and their families.
• Document care plans, progress, and incidents accurately in line with company policies.
• Comply with health, safety, and safeguarding policies at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Previous experience in disability support or similar healthcare roles is preferred.
• Certificate III or IV in Disability or a related field (or willingness to obtain).
• Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and person-centered care principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
