❄️ Makuru at Blueback: A Season for Rest, Recovery and Renewal 🌊
As the Noongar season of Makuru settles across the southwest, the ocean reminds us of an important lesson: not every season is a season for growth and activity.
Makuru is a time of rain, replenishment and recovery. A time when many parts of the natural world slow down, conserve energy, and prepare for the abundance to come. It is a season that invites us to do the same.
For many of us in the Blueback community, the ocean is more than a place we visit. It’s a teacher. And right now, it’s teaching us the value of rest.
Whether you’ve been training hard, spending long hours at work, caring for others, or simply navigating the busyness of life, Makuru offers an invitation to pause, breathe deeply, and look after yourself.
We’re grateful to have one of our beloved BLUEBACK FREEDIVING AND YOGA freedive coaches, Kanae, offering remedial massage through Sea of Ease | Remedial Massage from the Blueback Studio every Monday and Friday.
Many of you will already know Kanae from her three years of sharing her calm presence, ocean wisdom and coaching with our community. Her love of the ocean, wellbeing and helping people feel at ease makes this a natural extension of the care she already brings to Blueback.
If your body is asking for a little extra attention this winter, consider giving yourself permission to slow down and recover.
Because just as the ocean needs seasons of renewal, so do we.
