🌿 The new weight loss medications have changed the way we approach weight management, for some people they can be a helpful tool.

But there are a few things worth keeping an eye on along the way.

When appetite is significantly reduced, it can become difficult to eat enough and particularly to get enough protein and other nutrients. Rapid weight loss can also mean loss of muscle mass, while digestive changes such as reflux, nausea and constipation can make eating even more difficult.

These symptoms aren’t something you necessarily have to just put up with.

If you’re taking one of these medications and finding that your appetite, digestion, energy or ability to eat well has changed, talk to your practitioner. There may be ways we can support you through these changes and help you look after your nutrition and digestive health while you work towards your goals.

If you’re currently taking a weight loss medication and would like some support, have a chat with your practitioner.

🌿 We live in a time where there is always another answer to find.

Either through podcasts, articles or other explanations for why we feel the way we do.

And there is nothing wrong with wanting to understand yourself. In fact, that can be a really important part of healing.

But sometimes, without realising it, we can become so focused on understanding what is happening that we don’t give ourselves much space to actually experience it.

We stay busy thinking, analysing and searching, when what we might really need is a little more quiet.

A chance to come back into the body.

To notice what we’re feeling without immediately needing to explain it or change it.

This is something acupuncture can support beautifully. Rather than asking us to think our way through everything, it gives us an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with the body and support the natural movement and balance of Qi.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you ask for support.

Sometimes you just need somewhere to begin.

If this resonates with you, we would love to work with you. We can take the time to look at what is happening for you as a whole, not just the symptom that brought you in.

🌿 If you’ve ever had acupuncture between your eyebrows, you’ve probably had Yintang.

It’s one of those little points that can have a surprisingly big effect.

In Chinese medicine, Yintang is often used when the mind feels busy, restless or overactive. It’s a lovely point for helping to settle the nervous system, ease tension and create a feeling of calm, which is why it’s a favourite to use when someone comes in feeling like they just can’t switch off.

It’s also traditionally used for things like headaches, sinus congestion and tension around the forehead.

And sometimes, as soon as the needle goes in, you can almost feel the whole body take a breath.

🌿 There is so much movement in life that we can forget that we are allowed to pause.

Change can ask a lot of us. It can bring uncertainty, challenge old patterns and take us into places we didn’t expect to be. But perhaps we don’t always need to push forward or figure everything out straight away.

Sometimes we need to come back to ourselves first.

To slow down. To create some space. To notice what is actually happening rather than getting caught up in what might happen next.

Returning to our own centre can give us a different place from which to meet change.

As Lao Tzu reminds us, returning to the root is called stillness.

Maybe that is where we begin.

🌿 What makes Meg’s facial acupuncture different?

Before becoming an acupuncturist, Meg spent over 12 years working in facial and skin treatments. She now brings that experience together with Traditional Chinese Medicine to create a treatment that goes beyond the skin.

Facial acupuncture isn’t simply about treating the face. The treatment considers your skin, facial muscles and the balance of the body as a whole, creating a treatment tailored to you.

So while we’re supporting healthy, radiant skin, we’re also using acupuncture to help bring the body back into balance and leave you feeling deeply relaxed and restored.

Make sure to take advantage of our introductory offer and experience it for yourself. Book with Meg online through the link in our bio or by calling 3369 0045.

🌿 Did you know we can learn a lot by feeling the abdomen?

Abdominal palpation is a big part of Japanese acupuncture, which is the style of acupuncture we mainly use in the clinic.

Different areas of the abdomen can give us clues about different areas of the body including circulation, energy, immunity, digestion and the nervous system.

We’re also feeling for things like tension, tenderness, texture and warmth. In particular, warmth across the abdomen is considered important.

As we treat, we can come back and feel the abdomen again. Areas that were tense, cold or uncomfortable can change as the body responds to treatment.

It’s one of the ways Japanese acupuncture allows us to assess the body throughout a treatment, rather than simply treating a list of symptoms.

🌿 We often get really good at moving away from what we don’t want. Less pain, less anxiety, less fatigue, less stress. And that can be an important place to start.

But what happens when you start feeling better? Do you stop there, or do you keep moving towards what you actually want? More energy, more freedom, more calm, more connection, more choice.

Sometimes feeling better is only the halfway point. Thriving is about having a clear direction for where you want to go next, not just constantly trying to get away from how you feel now.

What would you want more of if you weren’t so focused on what you want less of?
