What is the NDIS?

Have you ever wondered what the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) actually is and how it can support people with disability?

The NDIS is an Australian Government scheme that provides funding to eligible people with permanent and significant disability. It is designed to help participants access supports that can build independence, develop skills, work towards personal goals, participate in the community, and improve their quality of life.

🌿 What can NDIS support help with?

Depending on your individual plan and support needs, NDIS funding may help with things such as:

✨ Daily living and personal support
✨ Building independence and life skills
✨ Community and social participation
✨ Assistive technology and equipment
✨ Home or vehicle modifications
✨ Employment and other goal related supports

Your NDIS plan is individualised, which means the supports and funding you receive are based on your circumstances, goals, and disability related support needs.

💡 A helpful tip: Not every service or expense can be paid for with NDIS funding. Supports generally need to relate to your disability, help you work towards your goals, provide value for money, and meet the NDIS reasonable and necessary criteria.
