An assessment report is more than a set of results.

It can help schools understand a child’s learning needs and inform individual learning plans, reasonable adjustments and practical classroom strategies.

We work collaboratively with families and schools to help translate assessment findings into meaningful, everyday supports.

Today marks one year since we opened the doors to our new Child in Mind Psychology home!

We’re so grateful to all of the wonderful children, young people and families who have walked through our doors over the past 12 months, and to everyone who continues to support and trust our team.

A huge thank you to our amazing Child in Mind team, and to the schools, GPs, paediatricians and allied health professionals who continue to support and work alongside us.

We feel very lucky to be part of such a wonderful community and can’t wait to see what the next year brings!

A growth mindset is the belief that skills, confidence, and abilities can develop with practice, effort, and learning. Instead of seeing mistakes as failure, children begin to see them as opportunities to grow.

As parents, you can help foster a growth mindset by:
- Praising effort rather than just the outcome.
- Encouraging your child to see mistakes as part of learning.
- Adding the word “yet” when they say they can’t do something.
- Modelling self-compassion when you make mistakes yourself.
- Celebrating persistence, problem-solving, and trying again.

Children with a growth mindset are often more willing to tackle challenges, bounce back from setbacks, and develop confidence in their own abilities over time.

At Child in Mind Psychology, our psychologists work with children to build resilience, confidence, flexible thinking, and healthy self-beliefs. Through evidence-based strategies and play-based therapy, we help children learn that they don’t have to be perfect, they just need to keep learning, practising, and growing.

Anxiety can show up in many different ways. It might look like tummy aches before school, avoiding new situations, needing constant reassurance, becoming overwhelmed by small changes, struggling to sleep, or big emotions that seem to come out of nowhere.

At Child in Mind Psychology, we understand that anxiety isn’t a child being difficult or attention seeking, it’s their nervous system trying to keep them safe.

Our approach focuses on helping children:
- Understand what anxiety is and why it happens.
- Recognise the early signs in their body.
- Learn practical strategies to manage anxious thoughts and feelings.
- Build confidence through small, achievable successes.
- Develop coping skills that can be used at home, school and in the community.

We also work closely with parents and caregivers, providing strategies and support so you feel confident helping your child navigate anxious moments.

If your child is finding anxiety is getting in the way of school, friendships, family life or everyday activities, we’re here to help.

Today marks one year since Lidia joined the team at Child in Mind Psychology, and we’re so grateful to have her as part of our clinic.
Over the past 12 months, Lidia has made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many children and families. Her calm, warm and compassionate approach helps children and teens feel safe, understood and supported as they build confidence and develop new skills.
Lidia has a particular passion for working with and supporting those experiencing anxiety, ADHD, autism, emotional regulation difficulties and other developmental challenges. She takes the time to understand each child as an individual, creating therapy that is engaging, practical and tailored to their unique strengths and needs.
Thank you, Lidia, for your dedication, kindness and the care you bring to every family you work with. We’re so lucky to have you as part of the Child in Mind Psychology team, and we can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
