In this video, I outline how I would work with a couple if one person has stopped wanting to have s*x with their partner.

People are complex and rarely bad people. We do the best with what we have and most of us want to do good to those we love. But no one is perfect and we all have room to grow.

The problem with the concept of narcissism is that it means we are putting a person in the box of being bad and closing the lid. We no longer seek to understand them and we filter everything that they do through that negative lens.

When it comes to relationships, there’s nothing worse than concluding someone is bad no matter what. This does not mean that we don’t judge people on their actions and may need to take steps to protect ourselves from people, including cutting them out of our lives, but we can do these things without labelling them as a narcissist.

Once we adopt that concept, we start to apply it to anyone that’s hurt us or others. It narrows our field of vision and darkens it.

Instead, hold onto a more positive view of people and if there’s something you’re upset about or hurt by, be specific about the behaviour. And try and understand why they are behaving that way. It will lead to better relationships and more growth in them!

I don’t believe in the concept of red flags in dating and relationships. The only way you can form a relationship is using a combination of chemistry and commitment and red flags takes you away from that and towards a checklist style approach.

Not believing in red flags doesn’t mean accepting anyone into your life but rather understanding why you’re attracted to who you’re attracted to and making the necessary changes in your life if your attraction is guiding you towards people that it doesn’t work out with.

There can be things that make you need to break off a relationship but red flags is different, it’s suggesting that at the slightest sign of shortcomings, get out. People are more complex than that.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree?

Understand that everyone around you is doing the best they can and if there’s something about a friend, partner, or family member that you don’t like, make the choice to either limit the amount of time you spend with that person or help them learn what you need rather than just getting angry at them. We don’t get angry at blind people so why are emotional or relational blind spots any different?

Here is how I would work with a couple if one person was complaining that their partner is stubborn. If you have any relationship problem you’d like a video on how I would work with that, send me a message and I’ll do one. It will remain anonymous!

It’s one of life’s hardest questions, should you break up with your partner or work on things. In this video I share a few thoughts on this question based on my years of working with couples. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

One of my friends has a relationship problem where she feels her partner lacks ambition. She is a highly driven person and struggles with the fact he just comes home from work and relaxes on the couch rather than seeking to build things for their future such as career-wise or financially.

In this video, I discuss how I would think about this problem and what she would need to do to resolve it.

Drop me a comment or send me a DM if you’d like me to do a video on a relationship problem you’re having or have had in the past. I’ll keep all names out of it!

S*x problems can happen to any couple. Whether it’s one person wanting more s*x (mismatched libidos), mechanical problems, a complete lack of physical intimacy, or any other number of problems that can occur, there are solutions. In this video, I go through how these issues get addressed in couples counselling.

Any questions, drop a comment or a direct message. I’m happy to do further videos on any topic people want (will not disclose your identity or any identifying information).

If not addressed, ADHD can destroy relationships but if you work on your relationship, you can grow old together in a happy relationship. Different brains can impact those around us but only if we do nothing about it.
