Feeling unsure about the new APS Practice Guidelines?

You’re not alone.

Many psychologists are wondering whether the 2025 guidelines mean more rules, more compliance, and more risk.

Our latest blog explains why the answer is more reassuring than you might think.

The guidelines are not new regulations — they’re practical supports designed to help psychologists navigate increasingly complex practice environments with confidence and clarity.

If you’ve been trying to work out:
• what’s changed
• what matters most
• whether you need to read every guideline
• how the guidelines relate to the Code of Conduct

…this article is for you.

For supervisors, the new APS Supervision Guidelines (2025) sharpen expectations around accountability, documentation, boundaries, and professional oversight.

The guidelines clarify that supervision is a psychological service in its own right — meaning supervisors must approach supervision with the same attention to informed consent, confidentiality, competence, and record keeping expected in any other area of practice.

This article breaks down the key changes and what they mean for contemporary supervision practice.

STAP is PROUD to have an average 13 DAY TURNAROUND for evaluations!

We hear that some soon-to-be supervisors can wait MONTHS to have their evaluation videos marked but we just could not do that to you so we make sure we return them to you as soon as we can.

AND we have now introduced OPTIONAL PRIORITY EVALUATIONS that are guaranteed to be returned in 5 BUSINESS DAYS or less (sometimes 24 hours)! So, if you need your Board Approved Supervisor Status in a hurry we can assure this for you.

Just do your training with STAP and then ask us about a priority evaluation when you are ready for Part 3 (only available if you have done your 2-day workshop with STAP).
