Trained in counselling, hypnotherapy & coaching a combination of these modalities can be used to help you reach your goals sooner. Many people will, at some point in their lives, find themselves in the role of a counsellor, However, wont have an understanding of the concept of counselling or what the role of the professional counsellor entails. There is a big difference between a professional counsellor and a person who uses some counselling skills as part of their role, for example their role as a friend or colleague. A professional counsellor is a highly trained individual who is able to use a different range of counselling approaches when working with clients. So given this information, it is important to know a little about me. My Background... Having spent many years working in the finance industry in a corporate role, I found myself seeking regular massages to care for my mind, body, and spirit. This then led to me studying a Diploma of Remedial Massage, Diploma of Corporate Stress Therapies, and various other qualifications in child and adolescent massage. During this 15-year journey, it became obvious that I was bound to undertake an additional life journey into a Bachelor Degree in Counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. Working initially in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, I decided to spread my wings in a more generalist area and started with the community aid centre, ADRA, in Blacktown. There I have had the opportunity to meet and work with many clients suffering various different conditions from depression to addiction, schizophrenia, anxiety and trauma, just to name a few. Looking back at my career and occupations, I have always had a passion for working with people and helping them to feel better about themselves and their lives, in a safe, supportive environment. I continually undertake professional education and am an active participant in local interagency meetings and interested in local issues pertaining to mental health. My additional studies thus far have been in the areas of Clinical Hypnotherapy, Pain Management using the OLD PAIN 2 GO methodology, sand tray therapy, trauma, cognitive behaviour therapy for generalised anxiety, and grief and loss. I am passionate about my own personal and professional development, which includes regular clinical supervision to enhance the quality of my work, meaning clients have the best possible counselling relationship, allowing optimising our work together. Qualifications: Bachelor of Counselling; Dip. Clinical Hypnotherapy and NLP, Old Pain 2 Go Practitioner; Diploma of Remedial Massage; Diploma of Corporate Stress Therapies; Diploma of Sports Injury Therapy; Infant Massage Instructor. Professional Memberships Australian Counsellors Association; Australian Traditional Medicine Society; Australian Hypnotherapy Association. It takes something to send that first message.

Most people sit with the idea of reaching out for a while before they do it, wondering if their situation is 'bad enough,' or whether they'll know what to say.
For what it's worth, you don't need the right words, and you don't need things to have reached a breaking point. You just need to be willing to start.

If you've been thinking about it, that's usually a sign worth listening to.

You finished work hours ago. So why are you still there in your head?

Maybe you're replaying a conversation, thinking about something you didn't finish, planning what needs to happen tomorrow or checking an email because it will “only take a minute.”

Perhaps you're sitting at home with the people you care about, but part of your attention is still somewhere back at work.

Switching off isn't always as simple as closing the laptop or walking out the door.

That's why I created The Switch Off Blueprint.

It's a practical, self-paced online program designed to help you create a clearer end to your working day and stop work taking over so much of your evening.

You'll learn practical ways to deal with unfinished work, recurring thoughts and rumination, create better boundaries, work out what actually helps you recover, and build your own personal Switch Off Plan.

The program includes:

5 self-paced video modules
Comprehensive participant workbook
Personal Switch Off Plan
15-minute guided Switch Off hypnosis audio

You can start whenever you're ready and work through it at your own pace and yours to keep if you need a refresher at any time.

$97

Because your working day deserves an ending and your evening deserves a beginning.

One reason work can be hard to leave behind is that unfinished things have a habit of staying mentally active.

You finish for the day, but your brain keeps reminding you about the email you haven't answered, the conversation you need to have, the job that isn't finished or the thing you can't afford to forget tomorrow.

One simple thing you can try before finishing work is to get it out of your head and put it somewhere you trust.

Write down what's unfinished and, where possible, the next action.

Not just:
“Finish report.”

But:
“Tomorrow at 9am — check the figures from Sarah and finish the last section.”

You haven't completed the work, but you've given your brain somewhere to put it.

That's one of the practical ideas I build on in The Switch Off Blueprint.

The program is for people who finish work physically but find themselves continuing to carry it mentally through the evening.

It happens often, and it still lands every time.

Watching someone realise, mid-conversation, that they already know more about their own situation than they thought.

It's not because I've told them the answer, it's because someone finally slowed down long enough to actually think it through out loud.

That's most of what this work is, really. Not fixing, just making space.

Hope your week had a moment like that too, however small.

Your working day might finish at 5pm.
That doesn't necessarily mean your brain does.

You get home, but you're still replaying a conversation from earlier.

You're thinking about the thing you didn't finish.

You're mentally planning tomorrow.

You check an email because it will “only take a minute”.

Or you're sitting with your family watching television while part of your brain is still somewhere back at work.

This is something I hear about regularly, and it's the reason I created The Switch Off Blueprint.

It's a practical, self-paced online program for people who are perfectly capable of doing their job but are finding that work is taking up far too much space outside working hours.

Across five modules, I teach you practical ways to create a clearer end to your working day, deal with unfinished tasks and recurring work thoughts, recognise when useful thinking has turned into rumination, create better boundaries and work out what actually helps you recover.

You'll also receive the participant workbook, your own Personal Switch Off Plan and a 15-minute guided Switch Off audio for the days when you need some extra help making that transition.

It's not about never thinking about work again.

It's about being able to notice when work has followed you home and having a reliable way to leave it there.

One of the most well known tools in solution focused therapy is something called the miracle question.

It goes something like this: suppose tonight, while you were asleep, a miracle happened and the problem that brought you here was solved. How would you know? What would be different?

It sounds almost too simple, but the answers people give are often incredibly specific, and those specifics become the starting point for real, practical change.
It's not about wishing, it's about getting clear on what 'better' actually looks like for you.
Ever tried answering a question like that for yourself?

It's okay to not have it all figured out.
