Cooking Up Something Sweet at Harbourside!

Our Harbourside Residential Care residents had a wonderful time getting busy in the kitchen for our latest cooking session — and this one was all about CHOCOLATE!

Together, our residents made some delicious chocolate crackles and scrumptious chocolate croissants. There was plenty of mixing, creating, tasting and, most importantly, lots of fun and laughter along the way!

After all, who doesn’t love cooking with chocolate?

A fantastic afternoon spent together, creating delicious treats and even sweeter memories.

World Chocolate Day Celebrations

There’s always a good reason to celebrate when chocolate is involved! Our residents at Harbourside Residential Care enjoyed a delicious afternoon together for World Chocolate Day. 🤎

The afternoon was filled with chocolate treats, including refreshing iced chocolates and a fabulous chocolate fountain, where residents dipped fresh strawberries and bananas into delicious melted chocolate.

We also enjoyed some wonderful homemade chocolate crackles made by our residents, along with delicious chocolate croissants — what a feast!

Happy 5th Birthday, Alfie!

There was plenty of tail-wagging excitement at Harbourside Residential Care as we celebrated a very special member of our Harbourside family — our wonderful therapy dog, Alfie, who turned 5!

Our residents helped make Alfie a very special dog-friendly birthday cake, filled with some of his favourite foods. Of course, the birthday boy was more than happy to taste-test it!

The celebrations continued with party games, a delicious afternoon tea, lots of cuddles and plenty of birthday cheer. Alfie was also very spoilt with some special presents!

Alfie brings so much happiness, companionship and love to our residents, and it was wonderful to have the chance to make him feel extra special on his big day.

Happy 5th Birthday, Alfie! 🥳🐾💙

A new way to play at Harbourside Seniors Hub!

Our Seniors Hub participants now have access to the Tovertafel interactive table at Les Johnson House in Shoal Bay — bringing a whole new world of fun, movement, connection and engagement.

Fay and Jean certainly put it to the test, playing for more than an hour! The only thing that could tear them away was the news that lunch had arrived!

And even then, on the way back to the Hub, they were already asking: “When can we take the others?” Sounds like we have a hit on our hands!

🐄 Farm Animal Matching – matching sounds with images

It's wonderful to see technology creating opportunities for our seniors to have fun, be active and enjoy something together.

Celebrating Years of Service at Harbourside Port Stephens 👏

On Friday we had the privilege of recognising 16 Harbourside team members who have reached significant years-of-service milestones, ranging from 5 to an incredible 25 years.

Our team came together for a special celebration and afternoon tea prepared by our wonderful Hotel Services Team.

The Years of Service awards were presented by our CEO, Paul Fitzpatrick, and Executive Manager People & Culture, Leonie Phillott, recognising each team member for their dedication and contribution to Harbourside.

Reaching these milestones represents many years of dedication, experience and contribution to Harbourside and to the residents, clients and families we support.

Congratulations to all 16 team members, and thank you for the contribution you continue to make to Harbourside Port Stephens.

Celebrating Aged Care Employee Day at Harbourside Port Stephens 💙

Today we celebrate the incredible people who make aged care possible across Harbourside Port Stephens.

Aged care is a true team effort. From our care staff supporting people in Residential Care and in their own homes, to our Hotel Services, Maintenance, Administration, Lifestyle and support teams — every role plays an important part in the care, comfort and wellbeing of the people we support.

To celebrate our team today, staff working across Harbourside received lolly bags, chips and drinks, with our Party Cart making its way around our Residential Care homes.

There has also been plenty of fun along the way, with Paula and the Party Pony visiting teams for our guessing competition, staff games at Carter House hosted by our Activities Team, and some great team photos in front of a fantastic photo wall created by Jason and our Seniors Hub clients.

Thank you to every member of our Harbourside team for the care, commitment and kindness you bring to your role each day.

A Perfect Intergenerational Day Out!

Today Harbourside Seniors Hub group had a wonderful time visiting the Shoal Bay Public School Fete!

There was so much to enjoy—from popping balloons to discover a prize, to joining in the egg-and-spoon race and sampling the delicious cupcakes and sausage sizzle. What’s not to love about a good school fete?

With perfect weather, wonderful company and plenty of fun, it was a fantastic intergenerational day out in the sunshine. Thank you to Shoal Bay Public School for making us feel so welcome! 💙
