Nest is so excited to be working alongside Mater as they arrive on the Gold Coast! 💙

This one feels personal for us. Anand was born at Mater Mothers in Brisbane, trained in neonatology there, and our first two children were also born there. Our third was born at what has become Mater Mothers' Private Gold Coast, where we now care for newborns – full circle, in the loveliest way.

The word “Mater” means “mother” – and it reminds us of the love and strength of all mothers, and the compassion of the midwives, obstetricians and nurses we work alongside. We built Nest to care for families with the same warmth and kindness – so this feels less like a new beginning, and more like coming home.

Here’s to a beautiful new chapter for Gold Coast families 🌿

We’ve had the privilege of recently caring for two very special baby girls in the nursery - the smallest (1320g) and biggest (5680g) babies ever born at Gold Coast Private Hospital

Meet Jane 👋

Jane is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) - the highest level of clinical nursing practice in newborn care - bringing years of specialist experience in neonatal medicine to Nest. Having trained at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital, she has cared for thousands of infants and their families across intensive care, special care and postnatal settings, and continues to work with premature and critically unwell newborns.

Jane’s role bridges nursing and medical care, allowing her to provide advanced clinical assessment and continuity for babies across both hospital and follow-up settings. She is known for her calm, compassionate approach - taking the time to listen, explain things clearly, and work in partnership with families so they feel informed and supported during what can be an overwhelming time 👩‍⚕️

Taking a walk through RDX - the beautiful space that will soon be home to Nest’s consulting suites. Just steps from Gold Coast Private, it’s filled with light, greenery, and Gold Coast skyline views that we think you’re going to love.

We’ve thought carefully about what it feels like to get out the door with a newborn - so our suites have been designed with that in mind. Easy pram access, a calm and welcoming space, and an environment that feels warm rather than clinical.

We can’t wait to welcome you and your little one here soon 🌿
