🏋️♂️ No Pain No Gain? 🏋️♂️
A very common misconception in the world of intelligent strength training is the notion that in order to get the best result possible we must push ourselves to absolute failure every single time we train.
This is simply not the case!
Our body is an intelligently adaptive machine that responds to an appropriate amount of stimulus. Fortunately for us, that stimulus does not need to mean absolute failure.
In fact, reaching absolute failure can actually hamper of ability to gain strength efficiently over the long term.
This applies to everyone who needs to improve their strength, from the rehab trainee who can’t get up from their chair, to the elite lifter who wants to deadlift more. The keys to improvement are frequency, consistency and intelligent stimulus.
We find that as soon people truly understand this concept in their own specific context they can start to make meaningful improvements to their current state of function, experiencing true progress for good.
