Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness holds a very special place in my heart 💗
Last Sunday, I was honoured to hold a morning Meditation and Sound Bath for this incredible group of women from Flat Life Australia.
Women from across the country who have, or are currently navigating, breast cancer diagnosis ~ undergoing single/double mastectomy and choosing to stay flat 🌷
Connections that have formed in a Facebook support group and evolved into vacationing (✨Flatcationing✨) together once a year.
Some of them had never met prior to checking into their hotel for the weekend.
My beautiful mum Donna has navigated her own breast cancer journey. Her diagnosis came on quickly in 2022 ~ on one side initially, then very rapidly spreading through both sides.
She chose to stay flat after her double mastectomy and has found so much love, joy and mutual understanding through this group.
It’s heartbreaking to know that there are so many women who don’t make it to this point.
My Great Auntie Kay lost her battle with breast cancer far too young. Both my mum and I carry her spirit in our middle names: Donna Kay and Brenna Kay 💗🪽
Last year, the Flat Life ladies vacationed in Sydney and I was beyond excited when my mum said they’d gone for topless swims at the Bondi Icebergs 🤗
With this year’s Flatcation being on the Sunshine Coast, it felt beautifully aligned to hold this session.
A space for slowing down, resting and receiving.
Space to simply be.
A very special thank you to my mum for inspiring the idea ~ and to Jo, Robyn and Pascale for organising and having me.
You are all so incredibly inspiring, powerful and courageous.
Until we meet again xx 💓
