๐ŸŒฟ Want lasting change? It starts within. We often wait for external circumstances to change, but real transformation begins when we explore our beliefs, fears, and patterns. Ask yourself: What would I choose if I trusted myself? ๐Ÿค” Start small, make one conscious choice, and watch your life shift. Return to yourself and create a life that's truly yours. avaniamore.com

For years, many of us become very good at looking outside ourselves for answers.

What do you think I should do?
Do you think this is the right decision?
Am I being unreasonable?
What would you do?

Sometimes we're not really looking for advice.

We're looking for permission.

Permission to say no.

Permission to change our minds.

Permission to want something different.

Permission to choose the path that feels right to us, even when someone else doesn't understand it.

And the more we seek that reassurance outside ourselves, the harder it can become to hear something much quieter...

Our own voice.

I think this happens particularly easily when you've spent years being sensitive to the needs and feelings of other people.

You learn to read the room.

You notice when someone's mood changes.

You anticipate what might upset them.

You become incredibly good at considering everyone else's perspective...

and perhaps stop trusting your own.

Then, even when something inside you knows exactly what it wants, another voice appears:

But what will they think?

What if they're disappointed?

What if I get it wrong?

So we override ourselves.

Again and again.

Until eventually we can begin to believe we've lost touch with our intuition altogether.

But I don't think we lose it.

I think we lose trust in it.

There's a difference.

That inner knowing may have been speaking all along.

In the heaviness you feel around certain choices.

In the energy that suddenly returns when you imagine another possibility.

In the quiet no you feel in your body while your mouth is saying yes.

In the pull towards something you can't quite explain, but somehow know matters.

Returning to yourself means beginning to listen again.

Not without considering the people we love.

But without automatically assuming their voices should carry more authority than our own.

Maybe it begins with asking ourselves:

What do I actually feel?

What do I want?

What feels life-giving to me?

If I didn't need anyone's approval, what would I choose?

And then becoming quiet enough to hear the answer before the mind starts explaining it away.

Because perhaps the guidance you've been searching for isn't somewhere outside you.

Perhaps beneath all the conditioning, expectations and years of asking everyone else...

the voice you've been waiting to hear is your own.

So many of us learned, often very early, that our worth was connected to what we did.

Being good.
Being helpful.
Achieving.
Getting things right.
Being needed.
Keeping everyone happy.

Without even realising it, we can begin living as though our worth is something we have to continually prove.

So we become capable.

Reliable.

The person everyone can depend upon.

We give a little more. Try a little harder. Do the next thing.

And underneath all that doing can be a surprisingly vulnerable question:

Am I enough?

I think this runs particularly deep for women who have spent much of their lives caring for others.

When you've been valued for being giving, accommodating, successful or strong, it can feel strangely uncomfortable to stop doing and ask:

Who am I when I have nothing to prove?

Who am I when I'm not taking care of someone?

When I'm not achieving something?

When I'm not being useful?

When I'm not trying to make anyone proud?

There can be something incredibly freeing in discovering the answer.

Because beneath all those roles and expectations is a woman whose value was never dependent upon any of them.

She didn't become more worthy when she succeeded.

She didn't become less worthy when she struggled.

She didn't lose her worth when someone didn't understand her, approve of her or choose her.

Her worth was there all along.

Maybe returning to yourself isn't about becoming more successful, more confident or more deserving.

Maybe it's about remembering what was true before the world taught you otherwise.

You don't have to earn your place.

You don't have to justify your needs.

You don't have to prove that you deserve a life that feels good to you.

And you don't have to become someone extraordinary before you're allowed to choose yourself.

Your worth isn't something you achieve.

It's something you remember.

For many women, losing ourselves doesn't happen all at once.

It happens quietly.

We become the one who remembers what everyone needs.

The one who keeps the peace.

The one who adjusts.

The one who notices when someone is unhappy and instinctively wonders what we can do to make it better.

We become partners, mothers, daughters, carers, professionals and friends.

And somewhere amongst all that loving, giving and holding everything together, we can slowly begin to disappear from our own lives.

Not because we're weak.

But because so many of us learned that being a good woman meant being available, accommodating and responsible for the wellbeing of those around us.

We became very good at asking:

What do they need?
Will they be okay?
Will this upset them?
How can I make things better?

And somewhere along the way, perhaps we stopped asking:

What do I need?

The compromises can be so small that we barely notice them.

We say yes when something inside us wants to say no.

We stay quiet to avoid conflict.

We put off what matters to us because someone else needs us.

We override our intuition.

We ignore the quiet signals from our body.

And we become so accustomed to considering everyone else that choosing ourselves can begin to feel selfish.

Then sometimes, particularly in midlife, something changes.

There can be a moment when the life that once fitted you simply doesn't anymore.

You may still deeply love the people in it.

You may be grateful for so much of what you've created.

But there's a quiet question that becomes harder and harder to ignore:

Where am I in all of this?

I think that question can be the beginning of something beautiful.

Because returning to yourself isn't about rejecting the life you've lived or the people you love.

It's about including yourself in your own life again.

Remembering what gives you energy.

What you want.

What you believe.

What you dream about.

What feels true for you now.

You can care deeply without carrying everyone.

You can support someone without becoming responsible for their journey.

You can say no and still be loving.

You can choose yourself without abandoning anyone else.

And perhaps one of the most beautiful discoveries of all is realising...

You were there all along.

Beneath the roles.

Beneath the expectations.

Beneath all those years of adapting.

Waiting to be heard.

Waiting to be chosen.

Waiting for you to come home.

Iโ€™ve Been Noticing This More and Moreโ€ฆ

Iโ€™ve been noticing something more and more latelyโ€ฆ

People saying things like:

โ€œI feel anxious for no reasonโ€
โ€œIโ€™m overthinking everythingโ€
โ€œIโ€™m just so tiredโ€ฆ but I canโ€™t switch offโ€

And what stands out is thisโ€ฆ

Most of them arenโ€™t in crisis.

Life looksโ€ฆ okay.

But inside, something feels different.

Like theyโ€™ve outgrown a version of themselves
but donโ€™t quite know what comes next.

Iโ€™ve felt this in different ways myself over the years too.

That sense of something needing to shiftโ€ฆ even if you canโ€™t fully explain it.

And what Iโ€™ve come to understand is that these feelings arenโ€™t random.

Theyโ€™re often the beginning of something deeper.

A kind of internal awakening.

Not always comfortableโ€ฆ but meaningful.

Thatโ€™s the space I work in now โ€” helping people gently connect with whatโ€™s underneath all of that noise, release it, and come back to themselves.

Most of my sessions are online now, and Iโ€™ve actually found the depth of the work hasnโ€™t changed โ€” if anything, people feel more at ease in their own space.

I still do a few in-person sessions on the Sunshine Coast, but online has become the main way I work.

If youโ€™ve been feeling this lately, youโ€™re not alone.

Iโ€™ve created a free guided hypnosis audio if you want to just experience it for yourself in your own time.

You can find it here:

Why Online Sessions Are Becoming So Powerful

A lot of people still wonderโ€ฆ

โ€œCan online sessions really work as well as in-person?โ€

What Iโ€™ve seen over time is this:

When someone is in their own spaceโ€ฆ everything changes.

Thereโ€™s no rushing to get somewhere.
No unfamiliar environment.
No pressure.

The body feels safer.

And when the body feels safeโ€ฆ it opens.

This is where deeper work becomes possible.

Especially right now โ€” when so many people are feeling overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, and emotionally stretched โ€” the ability to access support from your own home is not just convenientโ€ฆ

Itโ€™s powerful.

Because weโ€™re not just working with the mind.

Weโ€™re working with the nervous system.
The body.
The subconscious patterns that have been held for years.

And this doesnโ€™t require a physical room.

It requires the right state.

If youโ€™ve been feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected, this might be a more supportive way to begin.

You can start with a free guided hypnosis audio, or book a free chat to explore working together.

Something Feels Offโ€ฆ But You Canโ€™t Explain Why

Lately Iโ€™ve been hearing the same thing over and over againโ€ฆ

โ€œI donโ€™t know whatโ€™s wrongโ€ฆ but something feels off.โ€

On paper, life might look okay.
Work, relationships, routineโ€ฆ all still there.

But underneath?

Thereโ€™s a quiet anxiety.
A sense of disconnection.
An exhaustion that sleep doesnโ€™t fix.

And itโ€™s not just one or two people.

Thereโ€™s a deeper shift happening right now โ€” especially here in Australia โ€” where many are starting to feel the weight of living out of alignment with themselves.

What used to be tolerableโ€ฆ isnโ€™t anymore.

And the body starts to speak.

Through anxiety.
Overthinking.
Emotional overwhelm.
Feeling stuck or lost.

Not because something is wrong with youโ€ฆ

But because something within you is ready to change.

This is the work I do โ€” helping you gently access whatโ€™s been held beneath the surface, release it, and reconnect with who you really are.

And this can be done just as powerfully online โ€” often even more so, as youโ€™re in your own space, feeling safe and supported.

If this resonates, you can begin gently with my free guided hypnosis audio, or book a free chat to explore if this work is right for you.
