Here it is, the next round of “The Clinician in Bloom”. It is a six-week live-online interactive training course combining practical floristry, botanical stories, therapeutic horticulture principles and reflective practice.
Each week draws on a different evidence-informed psychological lens, including Attachment Theory, Therapeutic Horticulture, Schema Theory, Narrative Meaning-Making, Compassion Focused Approaches, Mindfulness and Reflective Practice.
The aim is not to teach these theories in depth, but to use them as different ways of reflecting on how we naturally work, what we carry, and what may help sustain us over time.
Then flowers are used as the creative medium, so there is plenty of hands-on floristry and learning through doing.
Earlier this year I ran a pilot version, with feedback from a group of clinicians shaping this version. I received such beautiful feedback from clinicians who especially valued the chance to slow down, create with flowers, step outside the clinical role for a while, and have fun learning about floristry and floral arranging.
If you’d like to get an idea of how I integrate flowers first, I’ve created a free personalised flower journal, with botanical stories, floristry and reflective prompts straight to your inbox (please check spam).
