🏍️🔥 WHAT A RIDE! 🔥🏍️

Last week, our Swan Hill Discoveries crew headed to Melbourne for an afternoon of Freestyle Kings at Rod Laver Arena — and WOW, what a day it was! 🤯

From huge motocross jumps and jaw-dropping tricks to BMX and snowmobile stunts, our participants were right in the middle of all the action! 🏍️💨

It was such a great opportunity to get out, experience something completely different and enjoy an adrenaline-filled day together. The excitement (and the noise! 😂) made for some pretty unforgettable memories.

We love getting out into the community and creating experiences that are more than just support — and this one definitely delivered!

✨ School Holiday Kids Camp – Melbourne Adventure! ✨

What an incredible few days our Swan Hill Discoveries crew had during the school holidays! 💙

Our Kids Camp isn’t just about getting away—it’s about creating opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop independence, strengthen friendships, and experience new adventures in a safe and supportive environment.

From exploring Melbourne to sharing meals, trying new activities, and making memories together, every experience gave participants the chance to practise valuable real-world skills while having an absolute blast.

These camps also provide something incredibly important—a chance for young people to spend quality time with friends, step outside of their usual routine, and enjoy a holiday filled with laughter, connection and new experiences.

Watching participants grow in confidence, encourage one another, and embrace new challenges is what makes these camps so special. 💙

A huge thank you to our amazing staff for making this trip such a memorable experience, and to our wonderful participants for bringing the fun, energy and smiles every step of the way!

We can’t wait for the next adventure! 🌟

A little bit of everything this week ✨

And honestly, that’s exactly what we love.

These photos are the perfect reminder that no two journeys look the same. Every participant we support has different goals, different priorities, and different stepping stones along the way.

For some, the focus is building confidence through social connection, community access, and meaningful friendships.
For others, it’s increasing independence, learning life skills, or working towards bigger long-term goals.

The goals may look different.
The path to get there may look different too.

But one thing always stays the same — having the right support, the right people in your corner, and a team that genuinely believes in your potential.

☀️ Winter sunshine, friendly competition, and plenty of smiles! 🏅

Last Friday our Bendigo and Swan Hill Out & About groups came together for a Mini Sports Carnival in preparation for the upcoming Tri-State Games.

From running races to team challenges, our participants gave it their all and showed off some incredible skills along the way. The day was filled with encouragement, laughter, and a healthy dose of competitive spirit as everyone cheered each other on.

It’s safe to say we’ve got some talented athletes heading into Tri-State! 💪🏃‍♀️🏅

Well done to everyone who participated and helped make it such a fantastic day.

💥 MONSTER TRUCK MANIA 2026 💥

What a day!

On Saturday, some of our Swan Hill and Bendigo Discoveries crew headed off to Monster Truck Mania, and while we may have been a little quiet on social media, that’s only because we were far too busy enjoying the day!

Events like these are always a reminder of why we love what we do.

While it might look like a fun day out (and trust us, it absolutely was!), there is so much more happening behind the scenes. Every special event provides opportunities to build independence, confidence, social connections, community participation and life skills.

For some participants, that means catching public transport, navigating busy environments, managing money, making choices about how they want to spend their weekend, and enjoying experiences with friends in a way that promotes greater independence and freedom.

Most importantly, these events are participant-led.

Monster Truck Mania wasn’t an activity chosen by management or staff. It was chosen because it’s something our participants were excited about. At Discoveries, our special events are designed around the people we support. They tell us what they’re interested in, what they’d like to experience, and where they’d like to go—and our job is to make it happen.

That’s one of the things we’re most proud of.

We’re not a cookie-cutter service. We don’t believe in creating programs and expecting participants to fit into them. Instead, we build our programs around the participants we have. Their interests, goals, strengths and ideas shape what we do.

That means we’re always evolving, always changing and always looking for new opportunities to create meaningful experiences.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff who happily gave up part of their weekend to support our participants to attend. The enthusiasm from both participants and staff was infectious, and seeing everyone have such a fantastic day made it all worthwhile.

Over the last 18 months, we’ve worked incredibly hard to build a team and culture that we’re genuinely proud of.

Every day we get the privilege of working alongside some truly amazing people. We laugh a lot, celebrate wins together, teach new skills, tackle challenges, and help people build the confidence and independence to live the lives they want.

Quite simply – we love what we do.

We’re looking for someone to join our Swan Hill team who wants to be part of something meaningful.

While experience in disability support is fantastic, we’re equally interested in people who bring real-life skills and experience from other industries.

🪚 Into woodworking or building projects?
🏉 A coach, mentor or someone who enjoys teaching practical skills?

Many of our participants love hands-on activities, learning practical skills, working on projects, getting out and about in the community, and building their independence.

We’re looking for someone who can help make that happen.
