National AusAlert Test – Monday 27 July 2026
On Monday, 27th July 2026, the Australian Government will conduct a nationwide test of AusAlert, Australia’s new emergency warning system.
As a leading security monitoring provider, we understand the importance of fast, reliable alerts when safety is at risk. This national test is an important step in ensuring emergency warnings can reach people quickly, clearly, and directly when they matter most.
During the test, compatible mobile devices across Australia will receive an alert. Your device may:
Play a loud siren-like sound for approximately 10 seconds, Vibrate
& Display a test message
National test times:
2:00 pm AEST – ACT, NSW, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria
1:30 pm ACST – South Australia, including Broken Hill, and Northern Territory
12:00 pm AWST – Western Australia
No action is required. Simply acknowledge the alert and continue as normal.
Some older or non-standard devices may display the heading “Extreme Threat Alert”. This is expected, and the message content will confirm it is only a test.
If the alert may be distressing for you or someone in your care, you can switch your device to aeroplane mode or turn it off before the scheduled test.
