One of the things I value most as a doula is listening before offering.

Every woman arrives with her own story.
Her own hopes.
Her own questions.
Her own way of wanting to move through pregnancy, birth and becoming a parent.

I don't believe support begins with advice.

I believe it begins with understanding.

The right doula is someone you feel safe enough to be yourself with.
Someone you don't feel you need to perform for.
Someone who can hold space for your hopes, your fears and your changing plans without judgement.

That's why I believe every doula relationship should begin with a simple conversation.

My hope is that you leave feeling heard, more confident in your choices, and more connected to your own intuition.

If you've been thinking about doula support, I'd love to hear your story.
You can book a Doula Connect Call through the link in my bio.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of witnessing women move through birth in many different ways.

One thing I've witnessed time and time again is that the preparation we do before labour quietly shapes the way we move through birth.

Not because birth follows a script.

But because the qualities we cultivate beforehand become something we can return to when birth asks more of us.

Presence.

Resilience.

Nourishment.

Strength.

Trust.

These aren't qualities we suddenly find when labour begins.

They're qualities we gently practise over time.

Each breath.

Each movement.

Each moment of slowing down.

Whether through Pregnancy Yoga, walking in nature, nourishing meals or simply creating space to pause, every small practice becomes part of the way we prepare for birth.

And perhaps that's one of the greatest gifts of preparing for birth.

It's not only about preparing for one day.

It's about becoming the woman who will meet everything that comes after.

The qualities you cultivate don't stay in the birth space.

They continue into motherhood, shaping the way you meet the many seasons that follow.

🤍

Which of these qualities feels most present for you right now?

P.S. If you're looking for a space to cultivate these qualities alongside other mums-to-be, my next Pregnancy Yoga Birth Preparation Series begins 23 July in Gymea. I'd love to welcome you.

Why practise Pregnancy Yoga before birth?

Perhaps most importantly, we practise something that serves us well beyond birth.

The ability to pause.
To breathe.
To meet each wave, each challenge and each new moment with a little more steadiness.

Alongside this, we prepare the body for birth through movement that builds strength, mobility and endurance. We explore breathing techniques, labour positions, relaxation and practical tools to help you feel grounded and supported throughout birth.

These are practices that continue to support you long after your baby arrives.

The steadiness you cultivate during pregnancy becomes something you carry into birth... and into motherhood.

Nature offers us a rhythm worth listening to.

The changing seasons remind us that life isn't meant to feel the same all year round.

There are times for growth.
Times for rest.
Times for beginning again.

Yet so often we expect ourselves to keep showing up in the same way, regardless of what our bodies, our minds or the world around us might be asking for.

For me, living seasonally isn't about doing everything perfectly. It's about paying attention.

To the weather.
To my energy.
To what I need.

Sometimes that looks like choosing foods that nourish the season.
Sometimes it's spending more time outdoors.
Sometimes it's creating simple rituals or allowing space to rest without guilt.

Little by little, those choices help me feel more connected - to nature, to my family and to myself.

What's one way you're embracing this season? 🤍

Winter has a way of gently inviting us back to ourselves.

The slower mornings.
The fresh air.
The warm cups of tea.
The candlelit evenings.
The simple rituals that remind us to pause.

This season I've been choosing to lean into those moments instead of rushing through them.

Not because life has become less busy, but because these small rituals help us feel more present within it.

Allowing nature to gently guide the rhythm and bring us back to ourselves.

What are you saying yes to this winter? 🤍

I'd love to hear in the comments.
